We have heard the same bravado for the past two years. We were patient and gave him ample time for Abyi to organize and strengthen the long arm of the law. what did he actually say in the parliament that is different than the past two years in my opinion nothing? He was talking the same thing in different ways. He and all Ethiopian peoples clearly know who is the culprit. The main problem is TPLF from the legal perspective and also from an administrative point of view. How can a government allow another rogue criminal group to hold hostage of its own citizen and claim to be the government of that country?
The main function of a government is to uphold the law equally across the country it governs and protects its citizens at any coast. Since citizens are legally bound to pay their taxes to get protection and other services from the government on their behalf and the government should do its part accordingly. If a citizen didn't pay his/her tax he will be prosecuted and if the government fails to do that then it is a failed government the legal contract is broken and citizens are obliged to protect themselves, their families, and their property and also they shouldn't pay any tax and ruled by that government.
For instance, if an individual take a person hostage the government sends a force to control the situation and start the negotiation and fulfill some of the demand if it is reasonable like food and medicine in order to protect the hostage from any kind of injury. At the same time, special forces buy time and prepare to raid the hostage-taker if the negotiation failed. TPLF is in the same scenario. They took the Tigree people hostages. Let us say Abyi is negotiating till now. During the negotiation, he is still giving the budget, our taxpayer's money, to the criminal hostage-takers and even allows them to spread propaganda and at last, as we witnessed another attack from the same hostage-takers.
When is the move to raid the hostage-takers and apprehend them? Now it makes me question the intelligence and determination of Abyi. He is responsible for every blood spelled by these people because of his inaction. It will put in question the moral ground to arrest those people while the more potent criminals are sitting in Mekelle with the budget from the government but arrest the petty criminals who killed one person. These kinds of selective law enforcement are not justice.
I do not understand the justification of Abyi except fear, hidden sinister agenda, or incompetence. If he wants to be a real leader of Ethiopia the people who live in Tigray also have a write to be protected under the Ethiopian law. TPLF media spew their hate propaganda against other ethnics sitting here in Addis Ababa, with the budget from the same Abyi government and Egypt. Bombed and killed many innocent Ethiopians in the past two years on his own and the GA Addanech admission they didn't do anything to close or to arrest them. But we have witnessed the same lies and cowardness in yesterday's parliament meeting. They keep telling us they have evidence but they are scared or do not have any clue about what is going on in the country. I have to admit that TPLF has a better grasp of the reality in Ethiopia than Abiy or any other so-called Killil presidents at list they are working toward their agenda of destabilizing Ethiopia with conviction because the noose is dangling over their head
Abyi is proved to be incompetent or doesn't care for people of Tigrea if they are hostages. Before I thought it was a strategy to reduce casualty and also to give time to some uneducated, young, confused Tigreans to realize that TPLF is not the future for them. This will create a similar situation for him again. It is clear now if doesn't act he is in real danger. He has to act for his own sake. Even if he and his friends planned to loot Ethiopia in the foth coming they have to protect the people that they plan to loot. But know I am starting to dought that because justice delayed is justice denied.
