As capital of The republic of Tigray, Mekelle will have connection to many far away places of the world.

Meqelle City Council should promote Meqelle to be named the cultural capital city of the world.
This city has a centre of activity since 13th Century.
It is beautiful city with a very civil population.
It is in Meqelle where ashenda celeberations from all over Tigray take place.
Meqelle has old rock-hewn churches about 10-20 km from centre
Yohannes IV palace stands in the centre.
Meqelle is not far from aksum and Yeha, one of world's oldest towns, continuously inhabited by human beings.
Tigray National Musuem to be constructed soon in Mekelle will house all historical artefacts for the world to see and admire.
