Gov't of Eritrea measures are aimed at protection of Eritrea's rich flora and fauna.

Eritrea: Greater Kudu (ዓጋዜን) - The Great kudu is a large woodland antelope with yellowish-brown coloring and thin, white, sparse vertical stripes. Male Greater kudu (ብትግረይት ገርዋ) has long black twisted horns. Females (ብትግረይት ነላት) do not have horns.

WorldEnvironmentDay2020 theme is “Celebrate Biodiversity”. With 8 million animal & plant species worldwide, 31% are on the verge of extinction. Eritrea has a very diverse flora & fauna, both at land & at sea- #EritreaAt29 focused on biodiversity

In 2002, Eritrea began banning the use of plastic bags in some administrative zones. After conducting awareness campaigns throughout the country, in 2005 it became the first country in Africa 2 ban the use of plastic bags #EritreaAt29 fights pollution.
