Hailemariam Desalgen as a lead negotiator on Renaissance Dam?

Post by TGAA » 13 May 2020, 19:51

Given his proclivity for unforced error, why Abiy thought Hailemariam would be the right person to lead this kind of a complex set of negotiation. There are many qulified negotiator both inside the country and in deispora; Abiy can hire expert negotiator from the west countries as well. Egypt has all connections and expertise that easily dwarf Ethiopia's. Ethiopia should play it's cards right. It can't afford making mistakes then an excuse to wiggle out of it. It give a wrong impression. Have the best negotiator get them by any Means. Patriotism serves to a limit, but negotiating is skill. Hailemariam never proved he has it. Don't show all your cards while negotiating with sabotage pron Egypt. Hailemariam can be part of the team, but he fits the bill to lead .. Don't think so.

That is why Ethiopia will never be free from Epridf/Tplf/Liberatin Fronts. They are scratching eachother's back since Aby got his power through Desalegn. On the other hand, it is important those with history and experience of the dam know more than those who have been in the dark under Tplf. But, Desalegn must have true patriots and negotiators with him.
