So far I am actually impressed by Eri Tv day-and-night COVID19 educational campaign to raise awareness of simple measures. Eritreans can take to slow the spread and fight its side effects.

There have not been any new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This means that there have not been any new cases for two days in a row. It's too early to be positive, but just like we've seen in other countries, the restrictions on traveling seem to ease the number of infections (in addition to the closure of the country for outsiders of course).

Furthermore, this weekend an additional batch of reagents arrived in the country. Mind you that most of the testing for COVID-19 infections at the NHL is currently done using the RT-PCR method. This method has the highest specificity and sensitivity. This measures the proportion of actual negatives that are correctly identified as being negative (specificity) and the percentage of infected people who are correctly testing positive (sensitivity). These reagents are crucial and it's impossible for Eritrea (and many other countries) to produce them domestically. So, for now, there will not be a serious problem in terms of COVID-19 diagnostics.
