The two leaders I mentioned on the heading went out of their way and pronounced as a hero someone who is not known to have done any tangible and visible contribution to the wellbeing of the country and invited him to come home and get a special treatment outside of the legal provisions of the country for an individual citizen of the country.
What they have done have now come back and haunt them (and the state) and this in turn is eating up the dire resources of the country.
Jawar Mohammad was accorded, for whatever reason, along with other actors, this special treatment including private security guard and state residence. Now they want to remove (revoke) the special privilege and the guy is attacking them on his own media outlet, which the government is essentially sponsored.
Prof. Merera Gudina joined hands with this evil-spirited guy and immediately started to go out of his way and left himself with a long lasting black-spot after calling other Oromos themselves as a diqala (someone who is born outside of a wed-lock, litterally).
