I took my time to listen to Haile Gebreselassie's Interview. He is one of my Heros, simply because he showed us the meaning of hard-work.
Did I hear him talking about productivity as the decisive factor for the country to grow and show progress in the economic arena?

For Ethio ash what is primarily important is why Haile didn't invest in amara region. In real world of investment there is only money making and profitability as the one driving force. I know it is not lost on Ethioash, who is the prominent economist of this forum, 
as to why Haile invested where he has.
However, Haile's accomplishment is something that we all should be proud of as countrymen. He motivated generations of fine talented athletes who are doing wonders everyday on the world stage. Most of our world class athlete are from Oromia region of Arussi and they are our heroes. I do say same for the legendary Miruts Yifter too. We have different political positions do not necessarily be translated to mean that we are not proud of the stellar accomplishment of our men and women in any arena of competition. Haile is 100% right! This journalist is out of his league arguing with haile about aid. To begin with he should have prepared himself by reading Dambisa Moyos book called Dead Aid. He lacks depth. You can never change a country by declaring it poor that is such a self defeating attitude that has strangled Ethiopian people. You change a country by changing the attitudes of it's people as winners, go getters, hard workers and self relient!! NEVER BEGGARS!!!

when Haile said Ethiopia is rich he mean the country is rich but the people are poor it is up to them to make themselves rich ..
if u remember once the great dear leader by the name of haile mariam mengistu if Ethiopia had oil EPLF AND TPLF would not ask to break way from Ethiopia ... but what መንጌ doesnt know was almighty God blessed Ethiopia with water resource...
instead of crying about what u dont have u should look what God give u and work at it then Meles come and turn the table ... if God turn the water to wine then meles turn the water to oil... our water give us billion of dollar income using hydro power what more can u ask all our industry run by water power, even if we r smart all our car would have been run by water hydro power. so that is what haile saying see what God give .. Africa are not poor the people are poor not the African the nation . in fact Africa is the wealthiest nation on earth
the only problem i see is Haile could have invited investors the least he could do.. otherwise he wisdom is worth considering
