Same name of places. One in Gondar city Qebele 18 and the other a popular village in Chaha Gurage where Atat Catholic Mission Hospital has existed for more than 50 years.
Very close to my birth place. No Amara settlers there. All the villagers are Gurages. I mean the name has not been transplanted from migrants from Gonder.
But these two places, one in Gondar city and the other in Chaha bear the same name, Atat.
Amazing! And curious.

2nd paragraph
Chaha also contains a region called Gura. The same name exists in Eritrea for the famous region of Gura in Eritrea.
I feel shame and outrage!
Re: Atat in Gondar, Atat in Chaha Gurage
There are many Eritrean villages with the same name in Tigray, Amhara and Agaw regions. Most of these villages are centuries old. In this case, you do not find this similarity with Sudan or Yemen. Beside the linguistic, cultural and historical similarity, this is a proof, for the people in Eritrea and Ethiopia to have lived together for centuries under the same ruling dynasties and the free movement of people.
A good example are the Bilen people who are only numbered around 100,000 people clustered around the town of Keren. About six years ago, a young Bilen refugee was attending in Addis Ababa university where he met an Agaw student from Lasta. Both were able to communicate in the Agaw language, despite some dialect differences, even after centuries of separation.
Yes, in Eritrea, we also have villages named after Chaha as in ጨዓ and ጨዓታት and of course, the famous Gura in the Debub Region.

The more we know about each other, the closer we are.
