Barentu Republic territory stretched from Barentu in present day Eritrea all the way to Adaamaa/Adama. Its parliament and president were elected by secret ballot every 4 years. There are still people of Barentu ethnicity in Eritrea such as the Bilen, Saho and Hedareb people.
