I don’t understand why people slaughter sheep, goats, camels, cows, chicken and even snakes and others and it is supposed to be criminal to slaughter dogs, cats, donkeys, horses even lions and others for food purposes.
All animals have hearts, meat, blood and hence we should not kill any of them to satisfy our needs or all should be in the menus if people chose what their taste buds demand them.
People are massacring each other due to religion, territorial disputes and hate and stupidly are worried what kind of meat people want to consume?

These kinds of “scandal/sensational” videos are being posted daily on youtube to make money and you fell for that. If this was real in Addis then many local medias, the police and etc would have been speaking by now. The sensational videos are being daily posted to get clicks and make money. This is clearly one of it. Don’t fall for the many daily “hidden camera” scandal videos. All are scripted and staged.

There is a legit case in Arsi though which was also reported on mainstream media.

In Ethiopia, if it’s hidden camera it’s most likely staged!

I always thought that the only meat that was eaten raw in Ethiopia was lamb/goat meat! Never thought it was rather beef.

How much raw meat does one person eat in one sitting?

For example, I can eat 500 grams of any cooked meat in one sitting. Do people eat raw meat in similar quantity that they eat in cooked meat?

Most people order a kilo per person and clean the plate completely. A friend of mine who reside in Addis, admitted to me eats one kilo per day the whole week except for Wednesdays and Fridays. Add a few glass of draft beer with that, one could easily spend upwards of $2000 Birr per meal. I don’t know how they afford it. The meat taste is totally different than what i grew up eating; it is tasteless, as if one is eating Sam’s Club meat which is frozen and unfrozen multiple times before it gets sold.
