ON COLONIAL BOUNDARIES

An international treaty regulates the frontiers between the two countries. If the Somali Republic does not recognize the treaty, then it will not even exist.

-Ethiopia is a founding member of the OAU (now AU), and signed,

the principle of the respect of borders existing on achievement of national independence, enshrined in the Charter of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), Resolution AHG/Res.

Ethiopia, as is well known, is the HQ for the AU.

It's reckless, when the PM of Ethiopia is publicly calling for the disregard of colonial boundaries.

-Ethiopia's borders with Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and Kenya are defined by different colonial treaties.

ON OGADEN/Ethiopian Somalis

The principle of self-determination, applies to colonial territories and not to parts of sovereign independent states.

The right of self-determination, cannot have preponderance over the principle of sovereignty...

ON DJIBOUTI

A Gracious Thank You to Eritrea

Last evening, a profound realization dawned upon me. I observed Somali soldiers, elated to return to their homeland after an extended period of training. As the convoy escorting these honorable men, each embodying an unwavering sense of national duty, moved through the streets. I also noticed patriotic youth in the streets, their expressions mirroring mine, jubilant and moved at the sight of their returning compatriots.

Many Somali parents had endured numerous sleepless nights, burdened by unfounded reports concerning their children, propagated by certain Somali leaders. The immense relief felt by these parents upon the safe return of their children cannot be overstated. Simultaneously, we must recognize the significant responsibility these young soldiers now carry.

President Isaias Afwerki, in conjunction with his committed government and the steadfast people of Eritrea, has granted us an exceptional favor. Since Somalia's collapse in 1991, no administration has showcased the capability or the inclination to train troops of such scale and across varied divisions. Despite the sanctions levied against it, Eritrea took the initiative, covering the costs of transportation, provisioning, training, and sustenance. This act of generosity, especially in these challenging times, is commendable, underscoring our mutual bond. Our gratitude is boundless.

The onus now rests upon the Somali leaders situated in
@TheVillaSomalia. They face the significant challenge of integrating these rigorously trained forces, who, despite adversities, remain steadfast. The mission is unequivocal: to change the nation's trajectory, liberating it from the confines of tribalism. Represented within this force is a diverse spectrum of Somalis. It is my aspiration that President @HassanSMohamud, as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, will competently guide this military division, ensuring they honor the legacy of their predecessors.

እዚ ድማ ጸዊዕኻ ጽልኢ እዩ ዝኸዉን፣ እንትርፎ ክጎድኣና ኣየርብሓናን እዩ።

መኸተና፣ ኣንጻር ኣቢይ ኣሕመድን ኣካይዳኡን ጥራይ እዩ ክኸዉን ዘለዎ። ካብ ህዝቢ ኢትዮጵያ ነጺልና ጥራይ ኢና ክንሃርሞ ዘለና።

ኣቢይ ኣሕመድ ብሰንኪ ዝኽተሎ ዘሎ ዘይብሱል ተገላባጢን ሽርሓዊን ኣካይዳ፣ ምስ መላእ ህዝቢ ኢትዮጵያ ተባቲኹ እዩ።

ከምኡ ስለዝኾነ ድማ እዩ፣ ኣብ ዉሽጢ ሃገርን ኣብ ወጻኢን ዘሎ ኢትዮጵያዊ ነዚ ናይ ሎሚ ቕነ ዕብዳን ኣቢይ ኣሕመድ ኣትሪሩ ዝኹንኖ ዘሎ።
