The Amhara people many times peacefully asked Abiy to understand what they went through during the 27 years of TPLF repression that they were specifically targeted and ethnic cleansed, their lands grabbed etc. and that these kinds of ethnic-based attacks and discrimination against Amharas should stop. They also expressed their fears of being disarmed while TPLF is still not disarmed, citing how TPLF massacred civilians and destroyed properties in Wollo. Many ordinary Amharas tried peacefully to block roads when 5 months ago ENDF started its operation to disarm the Amhara special forces. They told the government and ENDF that they didn't want to fight against ENDF.

But the infant Abiy and his boastful generals replied like "ትጥቅ ብቻ ሳይሆን ሱሪያችሁንም እናስፈታችኋለን". This is analogous to the reply by King Rehoboam who said "አባቴ በአለንጋ ገርፎአችኋል፥ እኔ ግን በጊንጥ እገርፋችኋለሁ". Hence, Abiy left the people with no other option but to fight back and oh boy how they are fighting back! They are fighting fiercely as someone who has nothing to lose. Indeed Abiyot , the fake Pente, thought that the Americans and the majority of the Amharas, who -- according to him -- have no notion of self-defence and self-preservation, would stand on his side while his Oromo-Hutu army carries out the " the undressing of the Fanos " with success.

Sam, Abiy sent ENDF to disarm Amhara some 5 months ago. You’re talking about the recent state of emergency which came about after his first batch of ENDF were totally defeated. His first batch of ENDF contingent faced peaceful resistance first in which people were blocking roads. Then ENDF tried to capture all Fano leaders hopping to end the operation swiftly in few days. As this was not bearing fruits, ENDF started full fledged attacks on Fano especially in Wollo, Gojam and Showa. After ENDF was defeated, the government declared state of Emergency and moved massive military and heavy weaponry including drones to the region. I bet Abiy never thought this thing will be so difficult to crack when he arrogantly started this ill-advised adventure 5 months ago.
