The ongoing Oromonization of Ethiopia is affecting the Ethiopian Orthodox Church!

Post by Axumezana » 22 Jan 2023, 13:33

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is among the oldest Churches on earth and it has survived for more than 1700 years during bad and good times. Ethiopia's culture, values and spiritual traits have been largely shaped by the mother church and it has played the critical role in unifying Ethiopia and keeping it independent as we know it. Over the years the major weaknesses of the church have been it's alliance and partnership with the earthly authorities and being used by them as a tool to consolidate and sustain thier power. Over the last four and half years , Abiy has been trying to use the mother church to consolidate his power to the extent of getting support for his genocidal war against Tigray. It looks now the mother church is seen as a major stumbling block for the ongoing Oromonization of Ethiopia and the government is working to divide and rule it. However, this challenge is expected to help the mother church to become more independent and relying only on God rather than it's partnership with the rulers of the land and it shall be refined further so that it continues to expand the gospel not only in Ethiopia but to the whole world.

The history of Ethiopian Orthodox church is not different from the history of other religions when it comes to the relation between faith and state/government. The Catholic religion has been doing the same, Orthodox church's in Russia, Greece have done so. This unity is not due to the fact that religion is the same as government but the state/government/ pretends it business is doing good for the people - hijackings the basic tenets of the sacred faith. These everywhere politicians hacks the church using their force of monopoly of violation. This does not mean the laity or the believers are the same as political leaders - that is why governments get deposed. In any case the Ethiopian Orthodox church is very unique asset to Ethiopians: it is the source of most wisdoms. source of literature, fabric of unity, etc. Although it is Christian in faith it is the valuable asset of all other faith follower. The wild Orommuma is just touching the thing it should never try. The very reason why Orommuma will fail shortly and worse than TPLF is because they just want to impose ONLY Orommuma sh!t forcefully and out of excessive hate to anything Ethiopia. The said Orthodox is a none-Oromo thing and now they are it is Orommuma. I think they pulled the triggers point black on their own self. The fate of Political Orommuma will be sealed by its defeat. As the current Patriarch of Ethiopia said along time ago, the Ethiopian Orthodox is under colonization of Orommuma. And colonization will not last long.

Aleka Abere,

Jesus Christ never allied with any earthly power during his time on the earth and any Church should not ally with the earthly governments. The Church is about the heavenly kingdom of God and is beyond race, politics , territory , religion and any worldly matter.

I agree about the separation of Church and state.

Our Lord instructed about this in Mark 12:17
“ Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”

But in reality, governments everywhere hacked religion to serve their interest. Presidents and Prime Minsters use the Bible when taking oath, witnesses before court swear in the Bible to speak of truth and only truth. This is a perennial problem everywhere. However, thinking what is pragmatic is reasonable. Outright manipulation and hijackings is very abusive. Let's not forget the ordinary people have strong bond with the teaching of Christ, no matter what. When it is too obvious and abusive they know what is Godly and not. This is not even political manipulation, this outright replacement of Christianity by Orommuma.

So whats the point of having a Orthodox Synod and Abun? It is earthly power imported from Egyptian Coptic church of Alexandria...the oromiya synod has one agenda which is to sit on the wembar by financial support from abiy ahmed (prosperity party)

I am afraid , if you were an Orthodox Christian you would not ask this question. Unlike ጴንጤ naturally, Ethiopian Orthodox Church follows exactly the true roots of the Biblical practice where the First Apostles begun their work of spreading the Gospel (The Good News). Christianity in Ethiopia is as old as Christianity in the world itself. The Bible is full of stories of Ethiopian.

Well

Who appoints them to Wember?

Man and Not God

Their contribution to the church is very minimal they are similar to Catholic Pope structure which is a triangle

Anyways amhara region will not accept oromia synod... This will cause amhara to have its own synod as well...

Is the tplf going to make the Ethiopian Orthodox church to expand now that the tplf is not in power and they need tplf cadres in the church to help the tplf to be carried on the back of the church and come to power again and take up Menelik's renovated palace and throne? :P

When the tplf gets defeated at the battles and wars for its agenda of establishing AbbayTigray interdependent state and or become the monopolistic ruler of Ethiopia it recoils like the Snail's horns or antenna and try to come to hide among the Ethiopian Orthodox Church so as to shore up support for its next agenda. And now after going through debacles after debacles of their own making they think that everything is the fault of the Oromos because they did not believe in the tplf's hypothesis of "Esaat Enna Chid"

On the contrary again hen the tplf gets stronger and mightier, working for and advocating for the speedy secession from the "dirty backward Ethiopia" and establish the glorious AbbayTigray new state in the Horn, then tplf vocally and unanimously call for separation of Tigryan Orthodox church from the "archaic and useless exploiter Ethiopian Orthodox Church" whom it considers as day light and night time pope and bishops of oppression. How can people become such a split tongued double standard deceivers and manipulators, folks when all of us have lots of honest hard works and agendas to establish peace, consolidate peace, development, increase wealth, health and happiness for the 120 million Ethiopians and beyond however slowly but surely?

What a cvnning Red F0X dressed in Sheep skin and trying to stand guard for the Sheep community!

Obbo Axumezana, are you the board member of the Global Orthodox Tewahido Association of Tigryan Clergies?

WHAT WE NEED IS COMPREHENSIVE SUSTAINABLE PEACE AND COMPREHENSIVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT!! After that, IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING! :P

Oh come on Chimp again. Don't bring in your extremist parochial neftegnumma amharumma Mantra.Oromumma is the great gift from the great mother nature because it stands for the original civilization, original democracy, genuine equality, egalitarianism coupled with eternity/infinity. Oromiyya is Ethiopia and Ethiopia is Ormiyya for ever. That is also why the brave and gallant Oromos have been saving and sustaining Mamma Ethiopia through out historical times and at every critical moments, without any questions being asked. Ask this form Abune Petros (Magarsaa Badhaasaa), Ayyana Birru, Abdisaa Aga and the rest of the many Patriots. :|

Sun wether you like it or not the so called synod cooked by Oromuma is illegal and it will be banned by court. The only way it can contuinue to survive is under different name and legal identity.
