Eritrea likely to host Russia and China naval forces in ...

Post by Roha » 02 Mar 2022, 21:28

Given the way world politics is turning these days, Eritrea is likely to provide naval and military bases sooner than expected to American rivals, such as the Russian Federation and the Chinese People's Army on its Red Sea ports and islands.
As things appear, the Russians will have an army base around Massawa close to the Dahlak Islands while China will have its base close in Assab port, not far from Harena. Not only will Eritrea get "rental money", free tech transfer and advanced armaments for its naval and air-force personnel and colleges but also a defense umbrella of the two super powers with veto powers at world stages.
Recently the Chinese foreign minister and the Russian deputy foreign minister were seen visiting Asmara and Massawa respectively.
This will further enrage the Americans who will be stuck in little space in Djibouti, sharing cafes and washrooms with the French, Arabs, Japs, camel herders and salt miners.

Eritrea 's statement at the conclusion of the 11th Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly
Eritrea firmly believes that respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity & political independence, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter…

Eritrea’s position is against internationalizing conflicts, incessant rhetoric, and impositions of unilateral sanctions, which regrettably further polarize international relations and escalate the situation with enormous implications for civilians.

The situation between Russia & Ukraine raises serious concern with political, economic & security ramifications for Europe & the rest of the world. It requires immediate resolution by giving more chances to diplomacy.

Eritrea opposes all forms of unilateral sanctions, as illegal & counterproductive. Eritrea, as a country that has been subjected to such measures by the West for 2 decades, including new sets of unilateral measures, understands sanctions do not resolve problems of peace & security.

It will be remiss, if I don't address disturbing reports that African citizens living in Ukraine are facing difficulties while crossing the borders. We call on all countries to facilitate safe passages to people fleeing for safety, regardless of their racial identity.

Isaias is not a dependable long-term ally. He has fallen out with all of his onetime close friends. In 1990s, he has fallen out with Egypt, Sudan and Saudi Arabia who had all supported Eritrea for decades.

He then fallen out permanently with TPLF who had been his closest allies for over a decade. He later fallen out with South Sudan and the leading elements of Islamic Council in Somalia.

Few years ago he's fallen out with Qatar which had stood with him and financed him for over a decade when most of his neighbors and outside world were against him.

I am sure Russia and China would like to use some of Eritrea's Red Sea coast. Such agreements are done for very long term engagements and Isaias is notorious for being unable to commit for long term alliance.

So, even though Eritrea's location is very tempting, Isaias fails every intelligence establishment's comparability and reliability assessment. Remember Americans could not conclude a deal with Eritrea during Rumsfeld days? So there is a very remote chance for what you said to happen while Isaias is in power.

True, Sarcasm makes a good observation below but seeing Issaias being the only African in the United Nations these days voting against the US and the West's interest, there is no doubt either the man is crazy or he has a steel of balls hardened by decades of US sanctions that were really unwarranted.
Issaias is likely to do what Fidel Castro failed to accomplish, by giving Russia a permanent naval base to deploy any armament, including a nuclear submarine stationed in Assab that will scare the crap of every Arab and the western world.

They already there, and for few years as well. Some islands in the red sea is off limit, you can guess why.

What you sub-humans failed to know is there is a difference between standing for your principles and serving your masters unquestionably. Isaias stood for his principal and if his way and what he believes served, he is gone. Unlike you sub-humans every one bends you for a dollar, every one. You wasted 300000 young lives to serve your masters and i can guaranteed you, they will be gone, you watch.

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergie Lavrov promised to his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh and to the Syrians:
You will have many of the captured American and European armaments, tanks and artillery at less than 90% discount because Russia does not need it.
Besides the west's weapons is not compatible with our armaments, and furthermore, the American weapons are not effective, just look what Sleepy Joe left behind in Afghanistan to the Islamist Jihadi Talibans.
The Russians will do what they know better, pound Ukraine as they did to Chechinia and Syria. Within few days, the Ukrainian army will flee empty handed to Poland and Hungary. Sleepy Joe and the Europeans are encouraging the poor Ukrainians to fight a futile war instead of advising them to remain neutral as Finland, Austria and Switzerland are. If the West keeps on escalating the war, Putin will not have any choices but to remove all Neto forces from all his neighboring states until they all become neutral.
This will make Issaias the most armed and dangerous man in subsaharan Africa at the stroke of a pen, thanks to Sophia Tesfamariam, in the UN in New York.
