The lives of Ethiopians who were massacred by TPLF thugs must be very cheap for Abiy to Release the Terrorists
I feel sorry for those who were massacred by TPLF because its leaders decided to start the war. Why should any Ethiopian soldier fight and die if Abiy is to release their murderers just after a year in prison. I am flabbergasted by this decision. What is next, invite Getachew to sit in the cabinet?

Who said murdering Amhara is a crime in Ethiopia? Do not kill anyone even if he/she is Amhara ...is the silent decree.sesame wrote: ↑07 Jan 2022, 15:26I feel sorry for those who were massacred by TPLF because its leaders decided to start the war. Terrorist tplf is not a threat anymore. Tplf is no match for the Amhara nor Eritrea. Tplf vermin are a sitting duck. Even though displeasing the ramifications for releasing the coffin dodger sebhat gega is to be seen in the future. We will see if the old [deleted] carries on with the usual tplf mantra or if he reinvents himself as a pacifier and therefore calls for tplf's complete surrender. Time will tell.

Most of us, if not everyone of us caught off guard. The release of some of the politicians are understandable. They are no longer a threat. Their political base shifted significantly. The release of some is questionable. I do not think Abiy personally by himself decided this move. He should and I believe he did create consensus at least among his cabinets. All the ministers might not signed in, but the majority did otherwise he could not take such a bold move.
We can speculate what the decision might entail, but I am afraid we do not have the whole picture to make a wise decision. Within a coming few days or weeks we might know what really had happened.

What is galling is that Sibhat and the other TPLF thugs will now enjoy the billions they stole. These people decided to start the war. They massacred thousands of innocent soldiers and civilians in Mai Kadra. What does releasing them get even before the war is over. Abiy has yet again blundered. The poor diasporas who heeded his call and travelled home must be feeling horrible today!

In my view the outcome was already made when Abiy Ahmed joined in the war front and crushed the enemy that was pushing for months towards the sit of his own government, in less than two weeks' time. That was an emense achievment of the true Ethiopian sons and daughters, who paid in their precious lives and gave us our freedom. We owe to them all our freedoms that we have today. The ragtag would have else danced on our bodies and humuliated us all, for one more time. We were spared.
Abiy Ahmed knows that more than anybody else, I think, we are people who don't come into terms with our subordinate positions, let alone humiliating one. If he goes out of his step and subject the Ethiopian people to any sort of similar situation, he will be undone on overnight. It is the Ethiopian people who made him Hero, it is only the Ethiopian people that can undo him, if necessiated. This is in my view, but sorry for the rough words here.
TPLF was made to its true size after the two weeks's measures. Today's decision and any other measures that may going to be taken in the future are all just consequential steps, Ethiopia is a winner. A true winner is the one who also forgives the very enemies he/she just crushed to the ground.
I think there is one important note to make, we all hope that the enmey has drawn its lesson, more chance will never avail itself any more.
Long live the Ethiopian Heros and Heroines, we owe you the gratitude of our freedom.

Sesame that they enjoy stolen money is not my concern. I do not like it, but not a big issue. My fear is reliving the divide and conquer politics. My fear is that the Amharas continue to become a target because of identity politics. My fear is universities becoming the hotbed of identity politics, a student who is in the wrong geographical university killed or kidnapped because of the ethnic tag attached to him or her. My fear is Ethiopians of reliving the past politics of almost three decades.
Re: The lives of Ethiopians who were massacred by TPLF thugs must be very cheap for Abiy to Release the Terrorists
Abiy Ahmed is not concerned at all with the lives of ordinary people. He is after his power, but not sure whether he can keep it any longer. In my time, this is the only person in the whole world I have heard of whose words never match his actions. He does the opposite of his words. And yet, I have never seen a person like him surrounded by dozens of pigs ( opportunists, mainly diasporas). He turned the country into an @ss hole country, just in 3 years time. He does not value individual poor peoples live. He broke the record in history hold by Yodit Gudit and Gragn Ahmed, most destructive and a leader doing against the interest of the natation. If he had a shred of morality he would have released all prisoners in the land the same day he did for criminal Jawar et al. He jailed them because simply they were competing for power not because they were criminals, based on his action today.

I don't think it is in the nature of Abiy Ahmed to disappoint the likes of this Ethiopian mother, who said to all her children go out and defend your country, I will tend to carrying the trees, sell them to sustain myself. She is just one example of the millions of Ethiopians that made Ethiopia what she is today.
She reminds me of my own mother who told me (and the rest of my sieblings) early on to go out and learn something, so that you, my children, may not remain like herslef while pushing the cows' dung or working the fields like our father the whole day all our life, that should end with her, she told us.
These are the true Heroines of Ethiopia, unsung Heroes.

Does your fear include the perpetuation of identity politics? Did we not pay enough to make some changes to the political order that is forcing us to wallow in circles? May be too early to predict but we are talking about our fears and aspirations. What if our fears come to be true? Just wondering!

I do understand the pain and memories that the likes of Ato Andargachew Tsigie may have is much different from that of mine. But I also understand that he is one of the sons of Ethiopia who will care for the future of this great country more than that of his own personal interests or wishes.
Accordingly, the yardstick we should take to measure the decision of this government is if Ethiopia will be stronger by keeping these individuals in prison and keep fighting for the foreseable future or strengthen Ethiopia on all fronts and make her self reliant and set them free. I said in my previous post, nothing is for granted for a reason.

I think this shows that PM Abey must have caved into American and its western allies' economic and political threats. That shows that the peace prize laureate prefers to keep his dependency on the decision of "mama" Amerika. Oh well, I feel sorry for Ethiopian people who fell victim to Weyane's egregious crimes against civilians.
