I can't believe Andy said that. He didn't have to backstab the Eritrean people after all the things they have done for him and his organization. As the saying goes: Expansionism shows a distorted mindset. As a product of "food aid", you don't understand the real character of an independent man. You've the need to serve who took care of you.

What expansion? If you're an Ethiopian, start thinking outside of the existing "apartheid" state constitution of Ethiopia for once; you will be able to understand Ethiopia, the ancient country, then you'll know where Andy is coming from. I don't expect Gebreab and Zmeselo to ever do that because they're not willing.

Having said that, given the man's shortcomings, he has done more than his share. The call of this demonstration by him minus the "flag burning" shall serve us well.

Levine of University of Chicago's Department of Sociology, who studied Ethiopian history throughout his academic career, revealed a very dangerous mindset that exists among some Ethiopian elite, whose lazy-man's alternative to erasing the embarrassing stigma of being associated with famine, poverty and backwardness, is to exterminate 3 million Ethiopians, and as it is often the case, it's the people from majority ethnic group who are always the victims.

For what? Just to change the way how white people perceive the elite -- as backward? But how come they're not worried about being perceived as blood-thirsty savages who murder 3 million souls to whitewash their horrible image with shinny bullets and machetes? These elite have no control over how white people perceive them, yet they're willing to bet 3 million lives just to see if it works. Being landlocked is more mental than physical. You will never find a single person in Oromia who suffers from the mental disorder that afflicts the brain-locked savage beasts who don't appreciate being Land-Linked.

"3 million dead Ethiopians would not be too high of a price to pay for progress."

When he said that my heart stopped, because he's the representative of the educated group of Ethiopians who were so embarrassed to be poor, and to be backward that, they thought how can we modernize as fast as possible? And if that means killing 3 million people, so be it!

I'm afraid that kind of thinking is still to be found even today. When the Ethiopian elite say 'blood must flow', it's always other people's blood that must flow, not their own blood, not the blood of their own children, or the blood of people from within their own ethnic group..."
