ኦሮሚያ ውስጥ 15 ሚልዮን አማራ አለ ይላሉ፡፡ አማራ እኮ በአማራ ክልልም (ቅይጥ ተብሎ) 2 ሚልዮን ነው እኮ፡፡ በኦሮሚያ ውስጥ ብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ይኖራሉ፡፡ ከዚያም ውስጥ ከፍተኛ ቁጥር የያዘው አማራ ሳይሆን አማርኛ ተናጋሪው ነው፡፡ በ2018 የናሙና ቆጠራ መሠረት ቁጥሩም 3.44 ሚሊዮን ብቻ ነው (5.22 % of 62000729)፡፡
