In many instances the lack of adequate project managemt skill has caused the failure of many critical, among them flagship, projects and with that has led to the failure of not only those projects under consideration but also to the demise of the wider political institutions and other establishments in a number of countries around the world.

Ethiopia seems to have learned or learning now the skill of project management and this could make much of the difference at the end.

Many commentators are saying the on-going mega-project of Abay Dam has gained a robust project management under the leadership of PM Abiy Ahmed and with that succeeded to reach one of the critical milestones of the project lifetime, the initial filling of the dam itself. Many citizens are now excited about the news and this in turn is having a wider ramification of doing more towards the development of the country.

Some of the commentators in the following video are saying "it is not only about the allocation of resources that can make a given project successful, but the skill of its management is the more critical one". They also said that in many instances before many projects were initiated but then failed to succeed according to the initial schedule not because of the allocated money but precisely because of lack of adequate project management skill and that might have exasperated the overall conditions and led to the demise of the project owners themselves at the end.

One of the commentators said that "'seeing is believing' and we didn't imagine to see such a big change within this short period of time" of the scene she was visiting with her companions of the Oromian Parliament members.

Let me be clear here: I am making this comment not just to praise the accomplishments of these specific projects but the lasting lesson gained from thses projects will make a huge difference in the future in many different aspects of the social, economic and political landscape of the country and it is about the lessons gained from the skill of managing projects.

I think to have heard somewhere that about 4000 projects were finalised in the given fiscal year of 2012 of the Ethiopian Calendar.

Skill of project management is the foundation of many different developments of a country, a company and the society of all levels. This is a PLUS for the country.

Skill of project management sound like u need education to have this skill, but some Ethiopian have it by nature all you have to do is look the private project that are completed fast and on budget ብዙ ባለገንዘብ የፕሮጀክት ማነጅመንቱ ማጅራት ላይ ቁጭ በለው ነው ስማይ ጠቀስ ፎቃቸውን የሚያስሩት ። ስለዚህ አባይን የገነቡት ሰዎች በመቅፅበት የፕሮጀክት ማነጅመት ልምድ አገኙ ብትለኝ እኔ ለመቀበል ትንሽ ይችግረኛል ። የሆነው ነገር እሳት ከአባይ አገኙ በሙሉ ሮኬታቸው መጫር ጀመሩና ሌት ተቀን መስራት ጀመሩ እና ፕሮጀክቱን ጨረሱ።

ይህ ማለት ግን ዘለቄታዊ መልስ ሊሆን አይችልም ። አባይን የጨረሱት ስራተኞች ከስራ ሲባረሩ ወግድ አታስፈልጉም ሲባሉ አሁን ለናንተ የሚሆን ስራ የለንም ሲባሉ መሄጃ ሲያጡ ። የዛን ግዜ አባይን በፍጥነት መጨረሳቸው ይቆጫቸዋል ። ሁለተኛ ስራ ሲያገኙ ስራውን ከመስራት ይልቅ ጉቦ የሚያገኙበትን መንገድ ይፈልጋሉ ለዚህ ነው ፕሮጀክታችን የሚወድቀው ። ገንዘብ ነው ስማኝ ወገኔ ገንዘብ ነው ። ሽሎታ ተገዝቶ ይመጣል ግን ከልብ ተግተው እንዲስሩ በደንብ ገንዘብ መከፈል አለባቸው ስራውንም ጨረስው መጣል የለባቸውም ። የአባይ ጉሩፕ ተብለው ሌላ ፕሮጀክት መጀመር አለባቸው በአባይ ላይ ብቻ ስባት ዳም ፓላን ተድርጎ ነበር እንዴት እንደሆነ እንጃ መለስ ከታች የጀመረው ። ስለዚህ አባይ ሳያልቅ ሌላ ትልቅ ፕሮጀክት መፈለግ አለበት ለነዚህ ታጋይ ስራተኞች።

ሌላው ድግሞ የማነጅመት ቲም በሚሊዬን መከፈል አለባቸው መቶ ሚሊዬን ብር ነው የምልህ ይህ ከሆን የቢሊዬን ዶላር ፕሮጀክት በአጭር ግዜ ማለቅ ታያለህ ። ለፕሮጀክት ማናጀሩ መቶ ሚሊዬን ብር አለመክፈል ከሰስትህ ግን በአምስት አመት ፕሮጀክቱ ይዘገያል ንብረት ይጠፋል በሚቢሊዬን ትክስራታለህ በዚህም በዛም የፕሮጀክት ማናጀሩ ሚሊዬን ብር ማግኘቱ አይቀርም ስለዚህ እራሳችንን አናታል። አባይ ግድብ ያለቀው የአባይ አይን ስላረፈበት ነው። ግን ሌላ ግድብ ከ፬ሺህ በላይ ሜጋ ዋት የሚስጥ በጣም አየባከነ ነው። ማነጅመንቱ አየቀለድ ነው። የድርጅቱን ንብረት ትቶ በግል ሌላ ንብረት እየተከራየ ድርጅቱን ለኪሳራ ዳርጎዋል ። አሁን ስለአባይ በምናወራበት ስዓት ይህንን ግድብ የሚስሩ ስራተኞች አድማ አርገው ግድቡን በጣም አደጋ ላይ ጥለዋል። ግድብ ሲሚንቶ ሙሊት በምንም አይነት መቋረጥ የለበትም ግን ይህ ግድብ ብዙ ግዜ ተቋርጦዋል ስንጥቅም ሊያስከትል ይችላል በቢሊይን ዶላር የሚገመት ግድብ ኪሳራ ውስጥ ሊያስገባን ነው። እኛ ስለአባይ ስናወራ ሌላው ግድባችን በጣም ትልቁ ግድባችን አፈር ከድሜ እየገባ ነው። ለዚህ መፍት ሄው አባይ ስራ ፈቶ ሁሉን መክታተል ሳይሆን ማነጅመንቱን እንደባለቤት የሚያረግ ሲስተም ስርተን ማነጅመንቱ ልክ እንደግል ንብረቱ ግድብ በቶሎ ሲያልቅ ጥቅም የሚያገኝ ከሆነ ብቻ ነው ብርትቶ የሚስራው ሌላውን ለውፍ እንተወው።

I do agree with your overview of Project management, and in some respects, with all the mess that is going on in the country, visible achievement has been registered under Abiy administration. In peacetime, the competence of project management in advancing the country is without question the most essential, however; Abiy's competency in handling and leading the country politically into the safe harbor is sorely lacking. whatever economical success he achieved or about to achieve can easily be undone. One his power base, the prosperity party is very unmanaged and very unpredictable in the way it is being handled. Of all regions, it is the region he is leading is the source of most of the problems in the country, it would have grave results for the whole country if it is going to be lead in this chaotic manner. Abiy's tendency to wait it out till the problem burst out in its ugly form is a failure he seems to be indulging, by providing pseudo justifications. While the country is in the state of fragility his callousness in enforcing the rule of law borders purposeful sabotage. He luckily dogged off couple of attempts to overthrow him but had one of those attempts succeeded the country would have gone up in flames. His example of bonbons related to what he is trying to achieve in Ethiopia is instructive of his skewed view of the moment he is in. While the time bomb is ticking under his seat, he doesn't have to take care of a bonbon that is going to take five years for its fruition. He needs to defuse the dame bomb first.

አብይ አንድ የአበባ ቦታ ስራ በሁለት አመት መልካም ። ትግሬዎቹ ግን የአበባ እንዱስትሪ በቢሊዬን ዶላር ገቢ የሚያስገባ እንዱስትሪ ነው የገነቡልን ። ምንም ያነበረ ገቢ ስጥተውን አልፈዋል ። አሁን ቄሮና ፋኖ የሚያቃጥላቸው ኢንቭስትመት እኮ ትግሬዎች የተከሉት ናቸው።

ለምሳሌ አቶ ስመኘው በጠራራ ፀሐይ ላይ ሲገደል። ቤተስቦቹ በጭቃ አና በቆርቆሮ ቤት ነው የሚኖሩት ። ታድያ አባይ ዳም እንሹራስ የለውም ወይ በስራ ላይ ላለ ሰው የሚከፈል ገንዘብ ። ልጆቹ አሜሪካ ሄደው መማር አለባቸው የታለ ታድያ። ታድያ ይህንን ያየ ሌላ እንጅነር ዝም ብሎ በሶስት ሺህ ብር የሚስራልህ ይመስልሀል ሚሊዬን ዶላር መዝረፍ እየቻለ።
