Latest COVID-19 Stats for the Continent

Nearly 25,000 people across Africa have been infected with COVID-19, and almost 1,200 have died.

Figures released in the early hours of Wednesday by nCoV, the COVID19 Africa website, show 24,661 confirmed cases and 1,199 deaths. The number of people who have recovered is recorded as 6,403.

Egypt has the most cases, 3,490, with South Africa closely behind recording 3,465 cases. Morocco has 3,209 and Algeria 2,811, followed by Cameroon (1,163) and Ghana (1,042). No other African country had reported than 1,000 cases as at Wednesday morning.

DireDawa tightens border control to contain COVID19. Lemlem Bezabih, head of DD city admin’s health bureau, said new measures include tight control of entry of irregular migrants via the Ethio-Djibouti border. So far 8 of the 116 COVID019 cases in Ethiopia are from DireDawa.

So far Djibouti has 945 total confirmed cases (counted last night) out of 8955 labs conducted, making Djibouti the leading country in the Horn of Africa both for the highest number of tests & number of confirmed cases. DireDawa is a gateway to high volume traffic from Djibouti.With the number of tests at 9771 as of today, #Ethiopia has the highest number of tests among the Horn of Africa countries followed by Djibouti at 8955 tests

የሞሮኮ ብሔራዊ ቴሌቪዥን ጣብያ ቢያንስ ግማሽ ያክሉ ተለቀዋል፤ የተቀሩት ግን ጉዳያቸው እየተጣራ ነው ሲል ዘግቧል።
