Why do Gurages in ER chanting on the demolishing of Merkato?

One might wonder—why are they celebrating while their own people are being forcibly displaced? Is it due to their optimistic view of national development? Or do they believe that the people in Merkato belong to ethnic groups other than the Gurage?
In reality, on ER 2/7, many Gurage are actively insulting Amharas and Tigrayans. It seems these individuals harbor hostility toward all ethnic groups.
The deeper truth is that they perceive Merkato to be dominated by the Siltes, whom they consider their primary rivals. The Siltes have publicly declared that they are not Gurage—a statement that deeply humiliates the Gurage.
Consequently, they believe that removing the Siltes from Merkato will restore their pride.

Accurate observation. I also wondered why they celebrate all misfortunes that befall on Gurage individuals and families. Obviously, they belong to the same Ethiopia power that destroys Gurage or anything of Gurage, hoping to enjoy life living on the ruins of Gurage.
Silte is just another branch of the Ethiopia power. Now, most prominent powers for Gurage destruction are its beifhbors Hadiya, Mareqo, Qebena and Amara Fano in Gurage.

Abaymado, it is difficult to take an identity not one’s own and live with it constantly. It is difficult. Your hate of Gurages is the reflection of your politics.
You haven’t forgiven them for not dancing for the tribal music of your TPLF’s lyrics.
You haven’t forgiven them for their overwhelmingly choice of ቅንጅት over EPDRF in 2005 election in Addis.
While for a long time you played the Amhara card, today you bring ትግራዊነት to the mix.
No, Gurages do not hate አማራ እና ትግሬ። የመጥላት ባህሬ የላቸውም ጉራጌዎች that is precisely one of the reasons you hate them.
ስለ መርካቶ መፍረስ ምን እንደ አዲስ ነገር ታወራለህ። መላ አዲስ አበባ ዘመናዊ ከተማ እየሆነ ነው። መርካቶ በዛ ለውጥ መሀል እንዳለ ይቆይ ነው ሙግትህ። ደንቆሮ ነህ።
