In my view, one of the most fascinating ideas in science is Universal Gravitation. Isaac Newton is credited to have formulated its physics.

A solar eclipse event is a very excellent opportunity to remind us how our planet orbits around the sun while the Moon orbits the former.

A fascination about Universal Gravitation would easily lead to a research about ocean tide fluctuations and major earthquake events with respect to the phases of the Moon as it orbits the Earth.

This fascination led me to the predictability of meteorological variability in the course of studying the impact of climate change on water resources.

I imagine that whether ocean warming has any impact on ocean tides and the incidences of major earthquakes would be a very complex field of research.

I have tried to make a very preliminary study of a possible association between moon phases and recorded major earthquakes for over a century.

I think it would become easier to understand it if there has been a shift of the incidences of major earthquakes and moon phases by studying the recoded major earthquakes for over a century.

My attempt to attribute climate change to natural variability and manmade causes has led to uncovering the predictability of meteorological variability.

Two peer reviewed journal papers, one published in the U.S. and the other published in the U.K., have come out of the academic exercise.

In addition, my very preliminary study to associate major earthquakes and the phases of the moon was published as a Proceeding Paper by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Interested researchers who have the resources to continue this academic exercises may find these peer reviewed journal papers and the proceeding paper, which are linked below, helpful.
