Another fairy tale like solomon dynasty power grab. Also in the bible bread is changed to injera all over
I am not sure if the Guragigna bible states Kocho or what injera is changed in other ethnic bibles or if still reads injera not a local cultural food.
Qoma*te when in power ethnic bible translation was prohibited to amharanize ethnics by force or bible reading was only for the amhara educated and the rest should listen to fake teachings of debteras. The Amhara chauvnists cry now to maintain that control for exploitation🤮
The substitution of the name Ethiopia for Cush/Nubia did not happen overnight. The word originally referred to the region south of Egypt (ancient Nubia/Sudan). It was primarily adopted by Greek translators of the Hebrew Bible (around 200 BCE) to translate the Hebrew word Kush.
The transfer of this name to the modern-day Horn of Africa occurred in stages:
* Classical Antiquity: Greek and Roman geographers used Aithiopia (meaning "land of the burnt faces") as a catch-all term for dark-skinned peoples, heavily associating it with the Kingdom of Kush in Sudan.
* The 4th Century: The Kingdom of Aksum (located in modern-day Ethiopia and Eritrea) conquered the Kingdom of Kush in 350 CE. Through this conquest and their ties to the Mediterranean, the Aksumites inherited the term Ethiopia as a classical exonym (a name given to them by outsiders).
* The 14th Century: The transfer of the name Ethiopia to the highland kingdom was solidified by the Solomonic Dynasty. Starting around the 13th and 14th centuries, Aksumite successors sought to legitimize their rule by adopting the term Ethiopia as an endonym (a name they used for themselves). This was done to connect their Christian kingdom to biblical geography, with epic national texts like the Kebra Nagast weaving Nubian and biblical histories together into their own narrative of continuity.
Meanwhile, as the old empires of Nubia faded, medieval Arab and European cartographers began explicitly applying the term Nubia to the Sudan region, leaving Ethiopia for the highland empire in the Horn of Africa.
