Emperor Menelik II engaged in the slave trade. While he publicly signed treaties with the British to suppress the institution, he actively taxed slave merchants and profited from the captives taken during his territorial expansions to fund his military campaigns.
Ethnic Groups Enslaved:
During his military conquests into southern and eastern Ethiopia, Menelik's forces raided and subjugated various ethnic groups. The primary ethnicities subjected to enslavement and the exploitative gabar (forced labor/tax) system included:
* Oromo
* Sidama
* Gurage
* Wolayta
* Harari
* Somalis
* Nilotic groups (collectively referred to historically as Shanqella)

The listro has no clue when it comes to the difference between Sale and Sell. However, we did put Listro Gurages on Sale for Oromos such as Aba Jiffar and Gobena to sell them on the open market
