Menlick Ras Gobena, not Menelick himself, defeated the first and last king of Gojjam teklehaimanot in a two-hour battle at Embabo when he went to steal gold shipment Aba Jiffar meant for Menelick. If Menelick was in the battle, if your peanut size can imagine it, it would be double or triple the size of weapons and neftenyas.
Gurage beat two battles which Menelick himself led and fought, and sent him back to Ankober with little left of his weapons and soldiers. When he himself led the battle and participated, all his Rases such as Gobena and Darge were with him. Twice Gurage sent him back defeated together with his surviving rases.
