The coastal and strategically important nation of Eritrea has been elected as one of the Vice-Presidents of the UN General Assembly for its 81st session. The 81st session runs from September 2026 to September 2027, and the country's delegation will join the Assembly's leadership bureau to preside over meetings and support the work of the General Assembly.
