How can we let a plausible fact to a crime told by a driver not taken seriously and investigated for what it is worth?
Dr.Fikre Merid was a civilian, an intellectual politician who believed in progressive politics. He was not a military or police.
He was a designated chaufer to EPRP assassins. He himself testified without being asked. Birhanu can defend himself in saying that he did not know what the EPRP assassins did after he dropped them of. He did not know what they had done when he picked them up again. It's up to the jury of his peers, men and women of his age, over 65 years old, and the judge to believe or not to believe him.
In the trial of Birhanu Nega for the murder of Dr.Fikre Merid, a long-time membrr of the Ethiopian tudents movement against feudalism, member of All Ethiopia Socialist Movement, we would know, approximately, for how long he drove EPRP assassins, and how many of them and why EPRP sent him to Assimba.
