Yes, Zebra crossing is like a dancing act between drivers and pedestrians. I am sure the urban designers could have put lights at each zebra crossing but it really trashes the esthetics of the city. So there must some balance between safety and beauty. In the near future a group of smart and creative people will invent a high teach smart sign/signal system that does not require poles and wires that can be installed at each zebra crossing.

As far serious fatal car to car crashes and deaths - it has all become history, the history of Weyane rule in Addis. We are talking about 6 lane traffic, walking, cycling, running dedicated lanes. Addis has moved to 21st century. አለቀ!
