Differences Between Christian and Islamic Monotheism
Both Christianity and Islam believe in one God, but they understand God’s nature and relationship with humanity differently.

1. Nature of God
Christianity
Christians believe in:
Trinity
→ One God in three persons:
Father
Son (Jesus Christ)
Holy Spirit.
God is one in essence, but three in personhood.
Islam
Islam teaches:
Tawhid
→ Absolute oneness of God (Allah).
God:
has no partners
has no son
is completely unique and indivisible.
2. Jesus
Christianity
Jesus is Son of God
divine and human
Savior who died and rose again.
Islam
Jesus (Isa) is a great prophet and Messiah
born miraculously
but not divine and not crucified (Islamic belief).
3. Scripture
Christianity
Bible (Old and New Testament)
Islam
Quran — believed to be the final revelation
earlier scriptures respected but considered altered.
4. Salvation
Christianity
salvation through grace and faith in Jesus
Islam
salvation through:

repentance
God’s mercy.
5. Relationship with God

God is often described as Father
