according to the prof.claims, Why are not his products selling like hot cakes?

The technology already exists but largely used in fire pit stoves, central heating boilers and fire places with flue.

smokeless ? most likely reduced smoke ,still produce exhaust gasses and still have that familiar campfire smell.

He is going to sell them like hot cakes. The mission of this amazing inventor is not to make millions but to make these most essential product affordable to poor people. He just told you that he does not want to open a store for selling them because overhead cost will increase the price of the products. His goal is make them available at lowest price for the poor. First listen his story. Then comment. this is a rare human being even by Merkato standard. He is not a businessman, he is an ecologist. I am sure we will hear about him. He suffered most under Weyane rule. Let's see if this regime allows him or help him with his vision. In any event, this what we are! We have built Ethiopia under centuries of ignorance, reactionary rule and hostility.

Impact of Corruption on Businesses in Ethiopia

Unfair Competition: Corruption allows cronyism to flourish, where contracts and tenders are awarded to politically connected individuals or party-affiliated enterprises, disadvantaging honest businesses.
Increased Costs: Bribes and informal payments required to navigate bureaucratic procedures increase the cost of doing business.
Investment Deterrence: The prevalence of bribery, illicit financial flows, and bureaucratic red tape makes it challenging for foreign firms to operate, often leading them to look for more transparent markets.
State Capture:
The Ethiopian context has been described as having elements of "state capture," where private interests influence state decision-making processes for their own gain, hindering fair market operations.

The corridor project is littered with corruption and illigal eviction and possession of land to benefit the few .
You've been posting YouTube videos of the corridor project with care factor of zero regarding the injustice the average person suffers.

There is no business done 1+1=2 in the world. You know it but you want to bend it to foul mouth people you don't like. Corruption has different names to make it legal. Sometimes they call it gratuity, sometimes they call it bonus, incentive, kick back, lobbying... It exists all over the world. The issue is whether it is done under legally or not. Your ancestors were corrupt too when they mismanaged the country. They introduced actions such as: Ej-mensha, gursha, gubo.....
The video says people want to reach out the guy and buy the item and he is willing to leave numbers behind and create selling spots in a way that does not increase cost so that the low income coummunity can use it. He appears a reasonable person. It does not matter that the technology is being used for other purposes and not new. Invention of car engine gave rise to lots of other forms of engines with technology transfer. Technology transfer to simplify life in another device in itself is an indication of a genius or innovation
