Eritrea is planning to launch a pre-emptive military action against Ethiopia on the Asab front and the Raya front. This is in response to PM Abiy Ahmed's military threats to occupy Tigray and to take the Asab port. He has been deploying his forces on these two and many other fronts for several months.
This may likely take place sooner than expected on the shadows of the wide U.S military action on Iran, while the Middle East is on fire.
Recent meeting between Eritrean and Tigrayan top military officers in Shirie, Tigray discussed about eliminating imminent threats from PM Abiy Ahmed, but it is unknown what actions they may take.
Though details of the military preparation of Eritrea and Tigray are not available, army and military pieces movement on the ground indicate to a likely military action. The question remains that will Ethiopia take counter measures to the Eritrean pre-emptive actions, deep inside Eritrea and Tigray using its superior drone and air power.
According to Abiy Ahmed, Eritrea has become an existential threat to Ethiopia and the Horn of African region by arming various Ethiopian opposition movements and by its deep collaboration with Ethiopia's perennial enemies in the Arab world, such as Egypt.
