Whether you prefer the term "Eritreanization of Tigray" or the "de facto State of Tigray," an attack on the people of Tigray is an attack on us!

Basically, they see an attack on tigray as the prelude to a war against Eritrea seeking to illegally annex assab. So Eritreans being the highly intelligent strategists that they are, would rather form a strategic alliance with a faction of the tplf and keep that war contained within Ethiopia, as opposed to giving any incentive to the formation of an united Ethiopian front (which would include tigray) against them.
Smart indeed. Can't blame them. It's more likely to work as well, not to mention that tigray can forever be a buffer zone between Ethiopia and Eritrea, as long as they keep a friendly govt in tigray.
