Abiy's main focus should be weakening Egypt and promoting Sea Access. On the face of it Turkey and Egypt may seem to be on the same page about Horn issues. Not really. Turkey is actually a de facto HoA power, not Egypt. Egypt is trying grab a slice of the Somalia pie but Turkey is already there.
There will be a fight between Turkey and Egypt for influence in Somalia. This is why Somalia is visiting Cairo so many times and signing so many deals.
It is this underlying struggle for control between Erdogan & El-sisi that Abiy must take advantage of.
The other key agenda for Abiy is to weaken or balance Saudi Arabian pressure.
All in all it is a complex meeting we are expecting on Tuesday.
