Majority of listros in Addis are Amaras

The "Amara kuru" culture felt it doesn't suit the image Amara painted for itself. They slapped it on the poor and teenage Gurages making the bucks. The Amara listros are told to say they are Gurages when asked where from. Speak Amaharic as a second language as when a gurage teenager tries to speak Amharic with difficulty. But no denying there are Gurage teenagers but much fewer than the Amara mouth has inflated it. Amara listros are from Gojjam, Gonder, Wello and Shewa. It's brought in all the from Debre Birhan, then to Ankober and then to Addis. It came together with the other cultural institution of Amara, an even older institution of immorality they hate to admit they are proud of that existed in Gonder in the 16th and 17th century: male and female prostitutions, largely female prostitution.
