Egypt and Turkey sign framework military agreement in Cairo

February 5, 2026 at 12:34 pm

Egypt and Turkey signed a military cooperation agreement in Cairo on Wednesday, in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The signing took place after talks between the two leaders in the Egyptian capital, during which several cooperation agreements were concluded. The most prominent was described as a “framework military agreement” between the two governments.

The agreement was signed by Egypt’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Saqr, and Turkey’s Minister of Defence, Yaşar Güler.

Earlier in the day, Sisi and Erdogan co-chaired the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Egypt and Turkey, at the conclusion of which the two presidents signed a joint statement.

Erdogan was received by Sisi at the Presidential Palace in Cairo, where a formal welcoming ceremony was held, including the playing of the national anthems of both countries and a guard of honour. The two leaders then held an official meeting to discuss ways to enhance cooperation across areas of mutual interest, as well as to exchange views on regional and international developments.

Turkish arms supplier Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) has signed a major export agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Defence, which includes the sale of ammunition and the establishment of production lines in Egypt.

Sources familiar with the agreement told Middle East Eye that the total value of the deal is $350m.

The agreement was signed during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Egypt on Wednesday, where he met with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi.

Following a prolonged period of strained relations after the Sisi‑led military takeover in Egypt in 2013, the two countries successfully initiated a rapprochement in 2023, appointing ambassadors to each other.

Ankara and Cairo have since gradually deepened their ties, particularly following Israel’s war on Gaza, sharing overlapping interests ranging from Somalia and Sudan to broader regional security issues.

When it comes to Africa, they are dividing shares to control Eritrea and Ethiopia and the Arabs are not fighting with each other. It is time both Ethiopia and Eritrea say goodbye to Orthodox Christianity for the next 20 years. Just look at how many hijab dressing and the increase in Islam spreading like wild fire no longer Christian country. Ethiopia is being told it is no longer Christian country. The real goal is this. It is money that is bringing Islam in Africa. Under the King, Ethiopians don't need to sell their souls to have relation in Arab countries even Ethiopians were respected at that time.

The minions Gulf states are nothing and eating up their own population. In honesty, the kings are not from there originally that is why they eat up the populations. The alliance between Turkey and Egypt is very dangerous . These nations have strong arms and ally with the West. Freemasonry members also no Islamic faith. The Islamic faith is for the dumb Middle East population dying for freemasonry
