Amhara Unity- A Decisive Turning Point in Ethiopia
The Amhara people’s struggle for survival and the transformation of Ethiopia, led by armed ‘Fano’ forces has made remarkable strides since its inception three years ago, in response to a war imposed on them by the ruling Prosperity Party in Addis Ababa.
In this short period, it has grown into a formidable force that has pinned down nearly 90% of the regime’s army, foiled its repeated offensives and liberated vast areas of the Amhara region.
Despite these successes, however, it was severely constrained by its lack of a united organization and leadership that would bring the numerous Fano military formations under a single command.
That serious impediment has now been lifted. On January 17, Fano forces announced that they had become one organization and one army and elected their political and military leadership, a consequential leap that decisively shifts the balance of forces between Amhara Fano and the already exhausted and demoralized regime forces.
In the statement it issued on the occasion of the formation of a united “Amhara Fano National Movement”, the organization stressed that it will strive not only to
but alsoensure the survival and rights of the Amhara people,
Indeed, Ethiopian political organizations and armed movements- from Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Afar, Somali, the Southern regions and Bani Shangul-Gumuz- have been holding a series of meetings, which have culminated in an agreement to unite their efforts to free their country from the clutches of the regime and determine its future with the full participation of all Ethiopians. On the basis of this understanding, they are already taking concrete measures of cooperation-at bilateral and multilateral levels- to advance their common struggle.the continuation of Ethiopia on the basis of a just and peaceful unity and respect for the collective and individual rights of all its citizens.
Fano unity and the emergence of an effective alternative to the Prosperity Party are seismic developments in Ethiopia. They will certainly shake the system to the core. In an attempt to reverse the situation, PP and its external masters can be expected, at least initially, to double down and intensify the war, increase atrocities against the civilian population, attempt to create rifts within Fano and the alliance forces for change, and rump up an hysterical and increasingly ineffective propaganda campaign.
These efforts may stave off imminent collapse. But the regime and its officials have no illusion that their days are numbered.

ቃልሲ ህዝቢ ኣምሓራ ኣንጻር ብልጽግና፡ ምእንቲ ምውሓስ ህልውናኡ ከም ህዝቢ፡ ቅድሚ ሰለስተ ዓመታት ካብ ዝምስረት ዘርኣዮ ገስጋስን ዘምዝገቦ ዓወታትን ሱር-በተኻዊ ኢዩ። እዚ መኸተ’ዚ፡ ኣቢዪ ብድንቊርናኡ ንህዝቢ ኣምሓራ ንምንብርካኽ ብረቱ ብሓይሊ ከውርድ ምሰንቀደ፡ ብዘይ ቅድመ-ምድላው፡ ብፍኑው፡ በብወረዳኡ፡ ብቑጥዐ ዝተላዕለ ህዝባዊ እምቢታ’ዩ ኔሩ።
ኣብ ኣዝዩ ሓጺር ግዜ፡ ብደረጃ ኮራት ናብ ዝተወደበ ደርማስ ሓይሊ ማዕቢሉስ፡ ንዳርጋ 90% ሰራዊት ብልጽግና ዓትዒቱ ሒዝዎ ጸኒሑ። 11 ወራራት መኪቱ ኣፍሺሉ፡ ሰፊሕ መሬት ኣምሓራ ተቘጻጺሩ።
ሓደ መሰረታዊ ድኻም ግን ካብኡ ንላዕሊ ካብ ምኻድ ሓሊኽዎ፡ ዘየድሊ መስዋእቲ ኣኽፊልዎ፡ ንህዝቡ ብመጠን’ቲ ግዙፍ ዓቕሙ ንኸየኽትት ዓጊትዎ።
ሎሚ’ዚ ሓጹር’ዚ ተበንቊሩ ኣሎ። ኣብ ትሕቲ ጽላል ክልተ ውድባት፡ ኣብ ሽዱሽተ እዝታት፡ ብዘይ ምውህሃድ፡ ሳሕቲ ኣንጻር ሓድሕድ እናተዋግኡ ዝጸንሑ ሓይልታት፡ ሎሚ ሓደ ውድብ- ብሄራዊ ምንቅስቓስ ፋኖ ኣምሓራ- ሓደ ሰራዊት ምስ ስሙር እዝን ቊጽጽርን፡ ኣብ ትሕቲ ሓደ መሪሕነት ኰይኖም ኣለዉ።
እዚ ወሳኒ ነጥበ መቐይሮ ኣብ ሚዛን ሓይሊ ኣብ መንጎ ፋኖ ኣምሓራን ዝምህምን ዘሎ ብልጽግናን ኢዩ። ኣድማዕነት ሰራዊት ፋኖ ክድንፍዕ፡ ፍናንን ተሳትፎን ህዝቢ ኣምሓራ ክዓርግ፡ ደንበ ብልጽግናን ሰራዊቱን ክሽበርን ክዳኸምን ኢዩ።
ኣሰርን ፍረን ስምረት ፋኖ ግን ኣብዚ ዝድረት ኣይኰነን። ንሚዛን ሓይሊ ኣብ መንጎ ኩሎም ተቓለስቲ ውድባት ኢትዮጵያን ብልጽግናን ኣነቓኒቕዎ ኣሎ። ፋኖ ከምዝሰመረ ኣብ ዘበሰረሉ ቀዳማይ ኣዋጁ፡
ምዃኑ ኣረጋጊጹ።ኣብ መቓን ሃገራዊ ደሞክራስያዊ ሓድነት፡ ህላወ ህዝብናን መሰላቱን ከምዝሕሎ ብምግባር፡ ናይ ካልኦት ኢትዮጵያውያን ናይ ሓባርን ግልን መሰላት ዝኽበረሉ ስርዓት ብምህናጽ፡ ብፍትሓውን ሰላማውን ሓባርነት፡ ቀጻልነት ሃገር ንምርግጋጽ ክተግህ
ማዕረ’ቲ ፋኖ ንምስማር ክግበር ዝጸንሐ ጻዕሪ፡ ኢትዮጵያውያን ተቓለስቲ- ኦሮሞ፡ ኣምሓራ፡ ትግራይ፡ ዓፈር፡ ሶማልን፡ ደቡብ፡ ቤኒ ሻንጉል ጉሙዝን ኩሎም ካልኦትን፡ ጥምረት ክፈጥሩ ዛጊት ሰለስተ ግዜ ተኣኪቦም ክዝትዩ ጸኒሖምስ፡ ንብልጽግና ብሓባርን ብምውህሃድን ብምምካት ገሊፎም፡ ንዕኡ ኣብ ዝስዕብ መሰጋገሪ እዋን፡ ብተሳታፍነት መላእ ህዝቢ ኢትዮጵያ መጻኢ’ታ ሃገር ክትልሙ ተሰማሚዖም፡ ድሮ’ውን ተሓጋጊዞም ይዓዩ ኣለዉ።
ስምረት ፋኖን ውህደት ውድባት ኢትዮጵያን ነቲ ሓጺር ዕምሪ ብልጽግና መሊሱ ዘሕጽር ኢዩ።
እቲ ተሪፉ ዘሎ መገዲ እሾኽን መፈንጠራን ዝመልኦ፡ ገና ከቢድ መስዋእቲ ዝሓትት፡ ልቦናን ትዕግስትን ዘድልዮ ምዃኑ ግን ከቶ ክሰሓት ኣይግባእን። ኩሎም ጸላእቲ ለውጢ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ- ናይ ግዳምን ውሽጥን- ቈጽዮም ከበርዕንዎ ብዘለዎም ዓቕሚ ክረባረቡ ኢዮም። ኩሉ ስልትታት- ምኽራር ኲናት፡ ምዝያድ ግፍዒ ኣብ ልዕሊ ሰላማዊ ህዝቢ፡ መሳርዕ መኸተ ምምቕቓል፡ ጠቐነን ስነ-ኣእምራዊ ኲናትን ኩሉ ካልእን- ክፍትኑ ኢዮም።
