Please Never Sign a Deal with Egypt - Leave it Open. A Mediator haha "Bomb that Damn Dam"
Ethiopia, both now and for generations to come, has needs that go beyond hydropower, which is increasingly outdated as a sole development strategy. Like Egypt and Sudan, Ethiopia should use the Abay River for irrigation and food production in order to achieve true food security. For far too long, Egypt and Sudan have effectively freeloaded on Ethiopia’s rivers; no one has ever asked them to pay for the water that originates in Ethiopia - water that is far more crucial than Arab oil or petroleum.
Having read the letter reportedly written by Trump directly to Egypt’s president, copied to Ethiopia merely as an FYI, and also sent to the UAE and Saudi Arabia—while pointedly excluding the African Union—speaks volumes. It reflects a naked tactic to isolate Ethiopia and advance the demands of the Arab League, a bloc that openly positions itself to defend Egypt’s interests.
Ethiopia should not sign any permanent or binding agreement. The issue must remain open, flexible, and aligned with Ethiopia’s long-term national interests.
NEVER SIGN ANY BINDING DEAL WITH EGYPT - THE NEXT GENERATION WILL BLAME IT ON YOU

He may, to be liked by Trump and, for some corridor money.
Meles did same for his power. Their power equation is narrated as Ethiopia's formula.
Trump ignored the Nile source countries: Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda. They were supposed to get copues of his letter.

This staged like "The Berlin Conference, A Scramble for Africa - a conference in absentia of Africans". Now, the poor lamb Ethiopia, is going to be the sacrificial animal. Egypt, not contribution even a single cup of water, is to decide on the water of many African countries. Abiy Ahmed, who for sure is a "yes" man will create a precedence for other African countries if strikes a deal, on the behalf of Ethiopia, under duress.
The safest for Ethiopia is "Never Sign A deal". Blowing the Dam is the Least Evil Compared to Signing an Eternal/Lasting/ Deal with Egypt - it denies the right of the coming generations to claim that Abay River Should First Feed the Mouths of Ethiopia before it feeds Egypt and Sudan.
Ethiopia lost her Ports and Red Sea under a botched mediation (note Herman Cohen) and should not now lose her Natural River. I for sure know one day Ethiopia will reclaim her Red Sea coast, especially in an era where countries are under intense expansion, let alone Ethiopia who was stolen by colluding elements of TPLF

Rivers, land, flora fauna on top and substances underneath are proprietary assets of the killils. Short of changing the constitution, the redundant and soon to be globally defunct position of the one man executive of Abiy has no jurisdiction of signing documents, nor does Sisi the exhibitionist represent Egypt's engineers who can define the problem and bring about a solution without the need for self aggrandizement.
Al be it Trumps insinuation of a technical team can be a move in the right direction, the statement of ''once and for all'' regresses the issue to an unachievable and unenforceable political solution.

Abere: "... while 120 million Ethiopians are relegated to surviving on food aid, Egypt and Sudan have utilized the Nile water to build large-scale farming to feed their population."
Inquiring minds: What is preventing Ethiopia from doing the same thing to feed its population?
Abere: "... አይፈቅዱልንም!"
Inquiring minds: Who?
Abere: "...The donor nations that dump their expired food in Ethiopia don't allow us to produce our own food, because they have to dump their emergency food reserve somewhere every 5 years, and Ethiopia is the only country that does not complain. ታላላቅ ሀገሮችን ማክበር ባህላችን ነው።..."
Inquiring minds: So why are you barking at the wrong tree (Sudan and Egypt?)
Abere: "... because they make us look like we are "ሰነፍ ፣ ለማኝ፣ ፈሪ፣ የከሰሩ፣ ስግብግብ"
Inquiring minds: I see! So you're trying to find political solutions to your psychological problems. Good luck!

Fiyameta,
Egypt is the poorest Arab country it only beats Yemen, Sudan, Somalia and Comoros. U.S. aid is its source of revenue, for its role in Israel and Palestine issue. There is no economic wonder to talk about Egypt.
Ethiopians are very industrious and entrepreneurship-oriented people. However, it is very unfortunate for the country to be in a close distance with the Arab world - which is known persistent violence. Ascari-land has been historically used as their gateway to attack Ethiopia.
The very reason why you sleeplessly stick out your head here all day all year round is to stop Ethiopia being prosperous by serving as mercenary to her historic enemy. You pretend opposing Abiy Ahmed; but you truly are against the very Ethiopia itself. You act as if you support Fano, while we know Shabia is the #1 and #1 enemy of Amhara people.
The only lazy people I know is Ascari. They are the only one officially the world left them behind. Compare Asmara with Semera of Afar region. Semera was born in the last decade, it is growing fast and has better GDP (if measured by its size) than Asmara. Afar region (Semera) is way better to be even a peer for Ascari-land. What has your rat Shabia built or added to the ones glamourous city of Asmara that Emperor Haileselassie contributed to? Nothing, it is a ghost place infested by rats like those shanty tenements of Cairo along the Nile river.
