You see, you are excited when foreign corporations come to your country and making the people consumers instead of Ethiopians producing their own and exporting! You are excited about eating unnatural foods, gmo, chemical foods that turn you addicted! So the only reason allowing these foreign grocery is for rich people to shop. Good maybe they will die from artifical food . It looks like Aby calling " prosperity" party is so that it creates oligarchs and that is why all these foreign corps come in .
What l suggested was, creating open air market , like Thailand even better ones l think in China but make sure they are designed nicely and making the business community and along with government cleaning the environment with good sewage system.

I am thinking of Ethiopia on its own, not Ethiopia thru Gurage mirror as you do.
Don't bring in foreign companies only to bankrupt them. It's unethical. It's robbery. It's putting a barricade to economic prosperity. It earns Ethiopia a notoriety due to which that foreign companies would avoid to invest citing Safaricom as an example.

With proper conditions and legal requirements in place, allowing foreign supermarkets have more ups than downs to the local economy.
The likes of Queens,Bambi's and others will be given run for their money.
The local suppliers will also learn what quality and standard real mean .
Finally,real Jobs will be created and international tourists and foreign nationals residing in AA have greater varieties to choose from.
I have been to Queen's supermarket and found it to be a joke.apart from local produce (fruit and veggies) not worth wasting time here.
You are searched at entry and thoroughly searched again at exit.
double checking items against receipt.
