Uncommitted on Gurage affairs is an understatement. May be he would have lost if he was bold on politics.
Two of his memorable historical conclusions for me are:
1. The historically continuous problem of Gurage has been disunity.
2. Col.Fikresellasie Wegderes was fractitous, meaning he was not team spirited. Always differing, b*tching.
My fearless lion, my tiger from the East is Professor of Linguistics, AAU, Bedlu Wakjira. I was shocked to know that Bedlu the linguist was not among the team that wrote Amharic technical dictionary but Bahru was. Did the academics hold malice against professor Bedlu because he gives opinion on national politics when the masses suffer? Or was that team of technical Amharic dictionary authors was a bunch of political conservatives? There should be no reason why a linguist of Bedlu's national stature would not be invited for compiling a technical dictionary of Amharic.
Shame on them!
