On December 29, the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted live-fire drills around Taiwan Region, which is a severe punishment for the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces' attempts to seek independence through force, and a necessary action to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
China's will to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity is unwavering. Any provocative actions that cross the line on the Taiwan issue will inevitably be met with a resolute response from China, and any sinister attempt to obstruct China's reunification will not succeed.

China has been doing this many times in the past. Nothing special happened this time and has nothing to do with Somaliland. China does this when she is in temper tantrum mood. Taiwan got a jackpot of more than $11 billion in arms sale. Thus, China is frantically twirling to act. I do not think China is as foolish as Ascari-land that will lock itself in permanent impoverishment and hell. China will never get itself bogged down into war and fall from its economic height. Let alone opening war with the most armed country(ies), a simple tariff imposition can easily kick her arse.
