Ethiopia can stop all exports to Djibouti and seal the boarders.
Djibouti has nothing to export and becomes mere military outpost.
Ethiopia can use Kenya/Somalia ports.
What does Eritrea benefit from all these?

Egypt revealed its plans to modernize the Port of Djibouti with the aim of providing world class service to its valuable customer Ethiopia. 
A lot of Egyptians are retiring early because of the $3.2 billion dollars their country will earn by providing Djibouti's port services to landlocked Ethiopia.
An Egyptian factory worker said, "I don't need to work anymore. The Ethiopians are working for me."

Who would've thought Ethiopia would be placed at the mercy of Egypt for all its port service needs for a millennia?
