Why did PM Abiy Ahmed decide to attend and address this year's the nations and nationalities day in Hosanna Town?

PM Abiy Ahmed addressed the gatherings of the celebration of this year's Nations and Nationalities Day (የብሔር ብሔረሰቦች ቀን) in Hosanna Town of the Hadiya Zone of the newly created Central Ethiopia Region on the 08.12.2025 (29.04.2018 E.C.).

Usually it is not the PM who addresses such an event, rather the nation's President. This year the PM decided to not only attend but also give a yet powerful speech on the occasion.

The core message of his speech is, in my view, his remark about the late Colonnel Bezabih Petros, the younger brother of the late Professor Beyene Petros and a brave fighter jet pilot who defended Ethiopia on multiple fronts and scored remarkable battle field achievements in doing so. He was later supposedly martyred while fighting against the arch enemy of Ethiopia in the name of Shabia to the north. He was a member of the Hadiya people.

The PM said "what the patriot Col. Bezabih has started will be finished (finalized) by the current generations of Hadiya Youth, who are the children of the colonel." I paraphrased it as I remember the speech from yesterday.

I think the PM decided to travel to Hosanna to convey this message (of get ready) to the people of Hadiya and the rest in the country, which is a very important mission of this generation of citizens.

The message is clear, unless you are determined to sleep further and taken over by endless surprises when it arises.

He didn't say the task will be finished by the coming generation of Colonel Bezabih's children, but by the current. And there is a difference between the two.

Abiy Ahmed went to speak at Hos'ina mainly to mobilize central Ethiopia against Tsimdo and campaign for 2026 election. Central Ethiopia is one of his strong social based. Jimma may be in Oromia, but Jimma is naturally integral to central Ethiopia. Central Ethiopia being the most progressive dynamic region it is one of his project demonstration region. Between Arba Minch Addis that his main bread [deleted] support region. As for Hadiya youth, I think he is planning a massive military recruitment there - agitating patriotism. All of this optics is not welcome bu OLFist !!!

Like never seen in the history of the country. Is it a reflection of the Oromo culture? Somebody has to do a dissertation on this historic corruption.

Abiy Ahmed is a defeated moron. His whole demeanour speaks of defeat. His hoarse voice when he was vowing to terminate his enemies like head-lice clearly indicates a man in deep despair than one projecting confidence. He knows his end is nearing. And now Sudan is vowing to take the fight inside Ethiopia to get rid of the RSF infestation. When you are a servant of others, then your fate is in the hands of others. The Amir of Dubai is not going to save Abiy's arse. His only option is to do a Mengistu and seek refuge in Dubai!

Central Ethiopia is riddled with community violence. Most of the innocent victims are Gurage villagers, open market traders and shops, 1)by Shene terrorirsts, 2)by Hadya terrorists in the Qosye town of Gurage, 3)by Mareqo terrorists in Enseno and Butajira towns, and 4) by Qebena terrorists in Welkite.

This lawlessness has been going on prior to Abiy's rise to power but became deadlier, unspeakably gruesome and more frequent since he came to power.

As the top law enforcer of the country, he was supposed to talk about peace for every farmer and trader, Gurage or otherwise. Gurage makes up the majority poulation of the Central Ethiopia Region. He failed in his responsibility as a top most peace officer of Ethiopia.

It's immoral and criminal to demand such a traumatized population because of the failure of his administration to go to war for him.

I don't think he/she is an idle, just look at the number of posts that character is making in here on each passing day. The question of what those massive posts could achieve on the ground can be set aside for the moment.

You are right on this bozene guy with lots of free time who now is Amara because Fano has a winning chance of Arat Kilo. Your conspiracy theory on Abiy's unstated secret mission to arouse Hadiya for crimes against Gurage may also be right.

That part of Ethiopia is mostly politically neglected. Ethiopia is not only for Oromos , Amharas and Tigres. That is a cool move.
