Nobody knows how many rocks there's in a black hole.

They have a neat formula where they add a fixed number of millions every year. A decade ago, it was 110 million. It is now 130 million. 20 million in 10 years!!

Ethiopia has not conducted a population census count since 1985, when aid donors demanded an official count of the country's population to determine how much food aid was needed during the height of the devastating man-made famine.

Even back in 1985, the population count was a guesstimate, and the numbers inflated by the Derg regime for the purpose of obtaining more food-aid to feed the Ethiopian mercenary soldiers fighting in Eritrea.

Come on, Fiyameta, what's wrong with you? The Ethiopian rulers know everything, including that Adam was created from the Ethiopian soil. They also know that Saint Mary came to visit Ethiopia, but are upset because she didn't see her relative when she set foot in Ethiopia. They also remember when the 40 days and nights poured, ማይ ኣይሂ፡ which was in Ethiopia. They also conveniently know that Ethiopia existed for 3000 years. But they sometimes admit that there was no country with that name anymore 112 years ago. Now, does that convince you how accurate their history is? Oops, I forgot, they also proudly state that Eritrea was ALWAYS part of ኣስጦብያ! LOL!

You certainly find most statistical indicators/metrics for Eritrea are N/A - no data. Eritrea neither collects conventional data nor is a conventional country. A farmer knows how much wealth in his purse or she has in her girdle than Eritrea - it is a nomad and no men's land - thanks to Shabia, Eritrea is totally obliterated in socio-economic and political terms.

You are right in terms how the TPLF made extraordinary fraud just to decreased Amhara population; and inflate Tigre and Oromo. I have never considered TPLF and OLF censuses at all. However, the first ever census conducted in 1984 during Derg somehow provides baseline data for estimation. Note: the 1984 census report almost equal population size between Amhara and Oromo ( about 12 million) - even by then Amhara provinces were undercounted because of security reason.

Estimated 2025 Population - Using the 1st Census - dropping TPLF/OLF
Starting from 42,616,876 in 1984:
Low growth (~1.5%)
P=42.6M(1.015)^41≈72" million"

Medium growth (~2.5%)
P=42.6M(1.025)^41≈114" million"

High growth (~3.3%)
P=42.6M(1.033)^41≈153" million"

It is wise to account for the effect of war, the genocide of Amhara, the rampant effect of HIV, Khat, displacement/exodus of particularly Amhara. And of course, Eritrea province which had population size more than what it has today - thanks to Shabia. Shabia depopulated Eritrea

Survival rate for diseases and viruses is too low. People die for a basic sickness. Plus there is always active wars and unrests.

Another factor is that Both administrations TPLF and PP prohibited population count because it works against their ethnic formula. Both Oromia and Tigray inflated their population for internal budget allocation and political influence. Besides, my own nephew participated in the last population count made by TPLF and most of the guys who were tasked to count in rural villages didn't really count. They were chewing Khat and drinking alcohol in Towns reporting fake numbers. It is that fake and errenous number that is still being used in the formula to estimate future population numbers

True numbers are know if all population is registered and digitized with some sort of identification like the western society.

In 1985, the Derg regime, without conducting a population count, estimated around 40 million people lived in Ethiopia. It soon realized that, the more populous a poor country is, the more aid it gets from international donors. The following year, the regime claimed 60 million people lived in Ethiopia, and it received more aid. We are told 120 million people live in Ethiopia today. "ለጥቅማችን የሚበጅ ከሆነ እንዋሻለን።"

Eritrea had a population of 2,621,566 ( Female =1,311,830; Male =1,309,736). Had Eritrea population experienced the same growth rate as the rest of the 13th provinces of Ethiopia, its current population would have been either of the following below,

The only place on earth with extraordinary rate in population decline. Such population decline is possible only under extraordinary catastrophe - natural or human. In the case of Eritrea province, it is due to human - Shabia/Isaias the rat ate millions of them
