The so-called independence of Eritrea is one of the greatest travesties of the century - a hollow and costly illusion that has left Eritrea in a far worse state than it was as a province of Ethiopia before 1993. Rather than delivering freedom or progress, it has produced a region trapped under authoritarian rule, plagued by economic collapse, mass exodus, and international isolation. Eritrea today stands as a textbook example of a failed state.

Given this reality, it is not only morally justifiable but also rational and legally sound to consider Eritrea's reintegration into Ethiopia (but never under OLF-PP) - offering its people a renewed sense of hope, dignity, and a future free from war and suffering. Such a move, pursued through peaceful and democratic means, could help reverse decades of despair and restore a shared history disrupted by political agendas.

The United Nations ( an NGO) and the international community must also reckon with their role in enabling this outcome. Eritrea’s so-called independence, backed without due regard for long-term consequences, now stands as a cautionary tale of what happens when global institutions prioritize short-term geopolitical interests over the real needs and rights of future generations. This miscarriage of international responsibility should serve as a lesson -not to be repeated.

Ethiopia is about to break into pieces. I expect two strong nations to come out of that. I don’t mean tiny Kistane as well. The Amhara nation and Tigray nation will come very strong out of it.
