What Abiy is doing in terms of developing his country is the right way to go. But try to look at it as a serious endeavour, and not as cheap propaganda gimmick. Otherwise, you will be doing the right things for the wrong reasons, and it may backfire.

Look at you, for example. You are celebrating success, and everybody should applaud you, but almost every Ethiopian here seems to dislike what you're doing, because they sense you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

I'm fully aware of the ethic strife in the country, which is none of my business, but which I suspect is going to lead to collapse and disintegration. More important for me, I'm acutely aware of the noise Ethiopia been making against my country, which will end up destroying Ethiopia itself.

But I see nothing wrong with development, especially in a continent that is developing backwards. I don't need to badmouth their development, however meagre, I don't need either to create excuses for the lack of development I see in my country, even when conditions may be challenging.

What happens in Ethiopia is our business. You seem to forget that the leader of that dysfunctional nation has declared war. What you call development is mostly vanity projects that have little impact. Read the recent US report to understand that Ethiopia is corrupt, bankrupt and defunct. It is a dying nation.

In Eritrea, we have been forced for the past 27 years to put all of our resources into defending our sovereignty. One Coluli could have solved our problems if it wasn't for the impediments of imperialists who do not like our self reliance. This is not an excuse but the bitter truth. But even with all that adversity, Eritrea has managed to defeat its enemies. The streets of Asmara may not be as flashy but we can feed ourselves without the expired wheat which keeps Abiy's Ethiopia going on.

BTW, look at how Morocans are reacting to the building of a stadium! By comparison, Abiy has wasted ten times of that on useless palaces, pavements, street lights and parks while even medical,doctors get impoverished by his idiotic economic policies and priorities!

I feel you on many of the things you're saying, and it makes me really sad when forced to criticise instead of simply saying ኣጆኹም, because we need a lot of ኣጆኹም at this time

But if I am to focus, for example, on the unqualified quote above, Ethiopia is a concern for me only as a security threat. And the only thing I'm interested is how to disarm that threat.

I don't consider us "one people". I don't care if they have a unitary, federal or centralised government. I don't agree with Isaias' version of መደመር, the thing he calls ምምልላእ. I don't want to incorporate people from Ethiopian Afar, Eastern Sudan and northern Tigray into Eritrea, neither as መደመር nor as ምምልላእ. It is these kind of things that are forcing people to focus on negative trends rather than simply saying ኣጆኹም.

While keeping on doing the kind of positive things you and many like you are doing, we should also, at least privately, be on the watch, because those leading our country have said one too many things that are not congruent with Eritrea's vision or long-term interest. I am not at all comfortable with the many things they have been saying since the thawing of relations in 2018, I am actually glad Abiy betrayed Isaias, otherwise the long-term negative consequences of the twin concepts of መደመር and ምምልላእ would have been devastating for our country

We fought a 30 year war to win our independence. We fought another 2 years with people with whom we thought we had created undying friendship. We were held hostage for 18 years of no war no peace. We fought another 2 years and got back our stolen lands. And just when we thought all our travails were over, we are now confronted with yet another batch of dimwits who are openly challenging our sovereignty. Surely, you must see that Ethiopia is more, much much more, than just a security threat. Your laissez-faire attitude is very foolish at best.
