Can Our Country Ethioipia Be Saved?

Back in 1998, when the Ethiopian government under Meles Zenawi received orders from its masters to invade Eritrea, Meles expressed his concerns about Ethiopia, that had enjoyed free access to Eritrean ports without any payments since 1991, would find it difficult to come up with the money required to pay for Djibouti's port services. It was a valid concern, in my opinion.
But his masters quickly assured Meles that they would give Ethiopia up to $1.8 billion dollars a year in foreign aid to cover all expenses related to port services. The idea that, if Ethiopia does not use Eritrean ports, the Eritrean economy will die, was the rational used to lure Ethiopia away from Eritrean ports, but it did not work.
27 years after the failed invasion, it is the Ethiopian economy that is dying today, especially after President Trump ordered foreign aid freeze and the dissolution of USAID, it became abundantly clear that our beloved country Ethiopia can no longer afford to pay for Djibouti's port services without foreign aid.
Abiy Ahmed's recent visit to Moscow to ask for Russian foreign aid did not yield the expected results. The UAE is not known to give foreign aid either. Folks, we're running out of options. I can't think of anything we can do to save our country, except that we put our hope in Fano.
