I wholeheartly agree with ANDM proposal to teach Students the Ancient and Historical Ge'ez Language. Especially in Amhara Region by the way Agews can learn Ge'ez too but we should not teach the Kemise zone the Ge'ez Language so Ge'ez should be mandated by Zone Levels and not by regional level

As the Amharic language has many words nearly 40-60% originating from the Ge'ez language, it is important to learn the Ge'ez language. Around 85% of Amhara Region is Orthodox Tewahedo and thereby the combining of the Orthodox Monastical Education through Geez Curriculm is workable in all of Amhara Region including the 99% Orthodox Waghemra Zone and the 95% Orthodox Agew Awi Zone. The exception is the 72% Muslim South Wollo Zone and the Kemise Galla Zone.... ANDM should still teach Geez language to Muslim Amhara

Tigrai region should follow and implement the learning of the historical language of Ge'ez in schools the youth knowing Ge'ez can prevent another round of war in the Axumite lands of Northern Ethiopia as seen in 2020 Abiy Ahmed succeeded in pitting the peoples of Northern Ethiopia including Eritrea against each other in a brutal war.

A good future cannot be built without studying the past as such Ge'ez language can offer an alternative to ethno-lingustic-cultural rivalries in the northern country.

Amhara Region has began teaching grade 3 students the Ge'ez Language this is a great accomplishment. The youth should know the ancient history of the nation.

Geez is like Latin. It should be the language of religion. Amharic is a perfect language for Ethiopians. I would not tamper with it if I were Ethiopian. In Eritrea, Geez is alien to the moslem population. It would never be imposed.

Don't get used to it. Amharic advantaged Amaras while it disadvantaged the rest of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia should have a foreign language only as official language. Menelick and Zewditu used French as Ethiopia's official language. Haile Sellasie used English as official language ubtil 1965.
With English only as official labguage, Oromo will not complain. Tigrey willl not complain. Somali will not complain. Etc. If not they will continue stressing Amara. Amara will continue complaining that it is being hated and assaulted...existential threat.

Most of Amhara Region accept Geez with the exception of Oromia Zone (ethnic reason) and South Wollo zone (religious reason)

Because I was surprised to hear this morning in DHS news by Dereje, the Wollo Muslims are planning to oppose this because they want to teach their kids Arabic. Wow, so they want Arabic to be taught opposing Ge'ez in Ethiopia. We are already Arabized, are we not? These clowns forgot Arabic is not God's language, but it is Arab slave holder's language, whereas Ge'ez is the classic Abyssinian language of Axum even before the camel herder, Arabs migrated to Ethiopia. In fact, Ge'ez should have been taught as supplement even in Gurage land and Tigre if not yet started. In any case good to suspect, this may have been started for political reason to saw division. Ge'ez is an important language to learn to study historical documents of the country including those from Axumite empire. However, yes it could a trap devised by the devil incarnate leaders to magnify division among people and regions.

Dark Abid is wrong and misleading. In Eritrea more than 80% of the population communicate, study and broadcast in Tigre Tigrinya languages which hail from the Geeze language. The Bilen language itself uses lots of Geeze words and expressions. Yes this is Arabization. They believe to be a good muslim you must speak arabic. They believe to be a good muslim you must look arab. They believe to be a good muslim you must dress like an arab. They believe to be a good muslim you must be an Arab!

Look at Somalia before Arabization the would dress in Cushitic clothing now they dress in Arabian clothing such as that ugly abaya. : In fact Somalia became arabized recently in 1980s.



In contrasts to Amhara Regions oldest Muslim community "The Argobba" whos language also descends from Ge'ez have preserved the ancient habesha dress and culture. The Somalis began to worship Arabism and lost their identity! Arabism is anti-africanism
