Thank you for confirming that Qatar and Egypt deserve the highest recognition in Somalia. This acknowledgment didn’t originate from anywhere else but the self-declared one-clan enclave former leader Muse Bihi. Both nations have consistently affirmed their respect for Somalia’s territorial integrity, making their stance toward the secessionists clear.

Former President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, has publicly acknowledged that Ethiopia was compelled to withdraw from the contentious agreement it signed with Somaliland on January 1, 2024

Hargeisa (KAAB TV) – Former President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, has publicly acknowledged that Ethiopia was compelled to withdraw from the contentious agreement it signed with Somaliland on January 1, 2024, due to mounting opposition from the Federal Government of Somalia and increasing international pressure.

In a recent interview, Bihi stated that the government in Mogadishu had successfully challenged the legitimacy of the agreement, which many viewed as a direct threat to Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He admitted that the unified diplomatic and legal campaign by Somalia, supported by several regional and international actors, played a decisive role in forcing Ethiopia’s hand.
Ethiopia has officially rescinded the agreement it made with Somaliland. The pressure was so significant that there was even discussion of relocating the headquarters of the African Union out of Addis Ababa,
Bihi revealed.
Both the African Union and the Arab League firmly rejected the illegal nature of the deal.
According to Bihi, the diplomatic backlash extended beyond Somalia’s borders, with countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Djibouti, and others actively engaging in mediation efforts. Their involvement, he said, was crucial in de-escalating the situation and ensuring the protection of Somalia’s territorial unity.

The agreement between Addis Ababa and Hargeisa sparked immediate condemnation across Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa. Critics warned that the deal not only violated international norms but also risked destabilizing the already fragile region. Political analysts and regional leaders alike expressed concerns that such unilateral agreements could fuel further unrest and undermine long-standing efforts to maintain peace in the Horn.

The eventual cancellation of the agreement is now being viewed by many in Somalia and the international community as a diplomatic victory for Somali unity and sovereignty.

Somaliland's president is only parroting what the UAE had told him to say. It is a well-known fact that, UAE's servant Abiy Ahmed was using Somaliland as a decoy to seduce the Ethiopian public into developing an appetite for sovereign sea access through Eritrea, a diabolical scheme that could end up costing Ethiopians their nation. What does he care? He can always flee to Dubai.
