#1. 6000-4790= 1210÷4790*100 =25.26% increase
#2. 11500-6940 =4560÷6940*100=65.71% increase, increase ratio of 2.6:1
#3. 39000-21000= 18000÷21000*100=85.71% increase, increase ratio 1.3:1
#3 got 550% increade above #1.
39000-6000=33000÷6000*100=550%
An economic class oppression.

It's important to remember that when the government increased salaries last year, the primary beneficiaries were lower-income workers. For instance, a salary of 4,790 Birr came after an increment of more than 3,000 Birr; previously, their salary was 1,300 Birr, and it now reaches 6,000 Birr. In contrast, individuals earning 20,400 Birr last year received an increment of only 1,000 Birr, bringing their salary to 21,400 Birr

That money increase seems real and feeds to the propaganda machine of the failed system. We know the Birr is a flying paper almost with no monetary value due to inflation. What is the dolar value of each salary category? By how much did the salary of the protesting Doctors improve?

From my understanding, a doctor's salary follows the same structure as any other civil servant's. All civil service salaries are based on grade levels. For example, a first-degree holder with no experience starts at level 8, while janitors are typically at level 3, if I'm not mistaken.
Since doctors earn around 9,000 Birr net, they are likely at grade 12. Accordingly, their salary would increase to around 14,000 Birr, which corresponds to level 15 or 16

Only Amara is proud of sexual assault. Now Fano's Qebeto Masfetat, symbolizing sexual assault on killed enemy soldiers are viral videos made by Fano.
During Menelick neftenyas used to be proud of cutting out genitals of captured soldiers and bring to Mendlick to keep it as trophy from enemies such as Oromo, Gurage, Kembata, etc.
Aremene Amara!!

There should be healthy protest for the society to demand to fix issues. Health care workers protested 3 months ago for demanding wage increase. The government did that. This is healthy.
Most protesters are not grass roots as we see in other nations, it is funded by Soros groups in order to over throw the government the West does not like. I think Aby panicked and did the wage increase.
It also looks like IMF and WB is now fully attached to Ethiopia. dangerous.

Thanks for the explanation!
I doubt this salary change is a game changer. But that may be as much as the system can afford. For a better life, specially for physicians, it would be better if the government became a paying contractor to hospitals privatizing them and hospitals hire their own physicians on competitive salary or pay.
The government wants to control everything and in the process ends up paying salary to much work force making the society government post and salary addicted. Since Derg Era, Ethiopians are addicted to working for salary than doing their startups. The system is happy with that because if it hires people it controls them. Except for limited federal work force such as the military and teachers, Ethiopians should be able to own something and work for themselves or be employed to private companies. This can not happen because there is no enabling system or institutions. This is a system that controls everything including millions of cadres with salaries. With inflation sky rocketing unless system wide economic changes and privatization happens, salary increases are nothing but pating a crying baby to keep quite without addressing the wet diaper. I have worked in the system; the dream and ambition I had on college graduation was quite contrary to the salary I received. The only better paid workers when I was in the country were bank, airlines, and Tele. When I walked out of the country, I barely afforded to buy a nice shoes I liked. That changed quickly soon after I left that miserable system. Ethiopia is a country where buying a car is a luxury good and the system is happy to keep it that way by forcing a tax more than the pay value of the car itself. The people and the country are in the tentacles of thugs, corrupt leaders and of course always a blood thirsty dictator!
