• He loves telling other countries not to divide by ethnicity . Meanwhile, he’s got division on speed dial.

• His sandals should be in a museum — under “Artifacts of Excuses.”

• The man dyes his hair, but he can’t dye his record.

• He walks in worn-out clothes. Citizens walk in worn-out hope.

• He claims poverty but spends hours combing hair that technically belongs in a retirement home.

• His sandals may be cracked, but his grip on power is still airtight.

• He gives speeches on world unity — but can’t unify the line for clean water.

• He dyes his hair jet black, but the country runs on blackout.

I think its just a facade he is a muli billionair wearing poor clothes but his bank account is full for sure.
he wears a casio watch ,but sure he damn sure he has a couple of rolex in his collection

It actually looks Eritrea like Ethiopia has faced liquidation of human potential/resource. Assume all these able people contributed to development and wellbeing of their nation, situation may have been different.
Unfortunately a similar story in Ethiopia. A generation lost through EPRP and many other revolutionaries including the atrocities of TPLF. Zenawi deliberately terminated and chased out from the country 40 university professors. Mengistu assassinated 60 or more most educated highly posted officials and how many generals God knows. Eventually the country each time transformed to a system ruled by a blood thirsty dictator and may be 8 million yes saying cadres.
The worst of all is losing human potential. For me that is what happened in Ethiopia and perhaps in Eritrea too.
