To speak good for Ethiopia. To support it diplomatically at the AU, UN and elsewhere for all its legal and nefarious positions. To testify for fair elections though rigged. To receive guidances from Britain. In exchange, Ethiopia opened itself for Nigeria and SA. This role
been played by India to some extent during TPLF in power. Most probably, suggested by Britain to hide its neocolinial policies in Ethiopia.

Nigeria has been disloyal to Ethiopia. Nigerian lawyer Ethiopia hired to tepresent it at the Hague for a border dispute between it and Eritrea failed to bring forth all the facts according Dr.Yacob H.mariam(a retired law professor).
Nigerians plundered Ethiopian golds in blackmarkets, caught in bank frauds and expelled by Meles.

Nigeria's Dangote gets cement and natural gas business contracts without competion and perhaps minimum tax. His businesses never audited.
Nigeria is allowed to plunder Ethiopia.
Just recently, Nigeria accused EA of substandard and illegal service to Nigerian fliers, demanded refund and forbid it to fly in Nigeria. Eritrea followed suit, forbid EA to fly to Eritrea and seized its bank account in Asmara.

SA gets lots of Ethiopian students, most of whom are Ethiopian government sponsored scholarships for the army and civil service.

Same goes for India. India's textile industry is everywhere in Ethiopia. India became tge #1 destination for Ethiopia's sick people, most requiring surgery. Indian teachers in high schools and higher education skyrocketed since Ethiopia opened numerous universities all at once without local industry demand to hire them when they graduate.

Ethiopia is an indirect colony of Britain through its former colonies.

During the Second Italo-Ethiopia war, Haile Sellasie asked Britain to take over Ethiopia instead of Italy. Britain refused.
